  1. My mistake, I listed Bosch and I meant Porter Cable. Thanks
  2. I was looking at Bostitch tools and noticed a similarities with DeWalt then discovered Stanley, DeWalt, Bostitch, and Bosch are all the same company well sort of. http://bostitch.com/default.asp?TYPE=CATEGORY&CATEGORY=BOS%5FPOWER%5FTOOLS
  3. I have a confession to make, well sort of. Everything I said was true but I didn't mention the 12V kit is really my wife's. Her old outdated 7.2 Makita from back in the 80's finally has very little power after a charge. I can get a replacement cell for it that goes inside the handle thats soldered in permenately but I don't think its worth it. The Makita only cost $39.00 years ago so it doesn't owe us a thing. I Kind of picked out the DeWalt 12V for her, hee, hee. She made the final disission through. She likes the way it fits her hand and how balanced it is compared to the old Makita. She does wish it had a hard case but hey, no biggy. She actually has her own basic tools, has for years because she said she never liked using my tools. Besides, more than I can count I have had to use her small compact drill to get into tight spots were my drills couldn't. So tonight I had a chance to use her new impact driver on the deck. My 18V wouldn't fit and I have to say , that 12V is pretty impressive. It handled those 3 1/2" deck screws with ease. Used it to on those Simpson metal bracket screws no problem with either one. Glad she made a good choice.
  4. Really, wonder why the U.S. don't qualify? I was looking for a hard storage case for my Bostitch F21PL nailer and there only available in the UK. Tried to purchase one online from the UK from a Bostitch vender and was told the cases weren't sold desperately. I don't get these manufactures when it comes to who gets what. Maybe I should move to another country to get all the good stuff.
  5. I'm not positive about the 12V combo kits either but they did come with the 18V combo kits. Now the 20v MAX combo's come with the black/yellow contractor bag and the 12V MAX combo kits come with the black bags. Hard cases come with some of the individual tools. My 18V case holds Drill Driver, Impact Driver, 2 Batteries, charger, hex bits, drill bits, pencils and everything stays neatly in its own place. The bag would be alright if it had compartments and you could organize it but it's just an open bag with everything just dumped into ia pile and you have to dig around for things.
  6. Went to lowe's today and they were out of The Wounded Warrior 12V combo set edition for $159.00 so we ended up with the same drill and impact set that they sell for the new low price of $149.00 for $134.10 with my Veterans discount. Home Depot has the same combo kit for $179.00. The only difference I can see is the Wounded Warrior edition comes with a different belt clip and the black and yellow contractor bag were as ours came with a useless cheap black bag with no compartments. DeWalt should just eliminate that black bag and lower the price even more. They don't even offer a plastic storage case for their combo kits like they use to. I don't know about you guys but storage is a high priority with me. Granted I want the tools for what there designed for, but throwing everything into an open compartment flimsy bag just don't cut it. I much prefer to keep everything organized. I'd gladly buy the plastic case if they had one. It seems DeWalt's really cheeping up. Honestly I almost went with the Makita set, it's cheaper and has a hard case but I didn't.
  7. Boy do I feel like a jerk, your right it was a multi tool not a right angle drill. I was sure hoping I was right. I can make all kinds of excuses but it won't change a thing, the 20V Brushless XR right angle drill still does not exist, what a bummer. I stopped in HD today and it was flipped upside down in the rack and I could see the release lever with no blade 20 ft away. First time I saw it I didn't notice the lever because it was facing the other way, my eyes were messed up and the wife was ranting we have to get going so that's my excuse anyway. Good news is I'm getting the right eye done this Wednesday and I won't make this mistake again.
  8. Well the DW7082 clamps arrived yesterday and they fit on my DWS780 just like you guys said it would. Come on DeWalt let's get the lead out and update the saw list these clamps will work on so that others can utilize these too. Thanks everyone for your input on these, glad I finally bought them they work great. One observation I did make was that with the left clamp installed, when you swing the saw table to the right you can only get a 59 degree cut not a 60 degree. The screw for the slide lock hits the clamp. But when compared to the stock clamp that comes with the saw, you can only get a 51 degree cut and the saw hits the plastic wing nut on the clamp. Not a big deal either way but the quick release clamps do work better. There's plenty of material on the clamp that you could grind a little off which would allow you to get that extra degree if you really needed it.
  9. After I posted this topic I was sitting here thinking I should have snapped a picture with my IPhone but it never crossed my mind. Next time I'm in HD I will take a picture. I guess I was to excited because I've been wanting a right angle drill for some time and I've made up my mind that when I switch over to the 20V tools I'm going Brushless and that tool will diffently be one of them.
  10. Just the bare tool sitting in the middle of the shelf surrounded by several other DeWalt 20V tools on display. They all have a little cable attached to them so you cannot walk off with them and each of them sit on their own metal display stand to veiw.
  11. Well we've all been waiting to see what DeWalt is going to come out with next with the Brushless lineup. I was in Home Depot this afternoon and was checking out the clearance tools on a table and there was a 20V right angle drill on the table. I wandered why they would have a fairly new tool clearanced already so I walked into the tool section and there was a 20V right angle drill on display and it had all the same markings and looks as the new Brushless tools. It looked identical as the the new 20V Brushless oscillating multi tool only it had a drill chuck. I've looked on DeWalt's web site and I haven't found that tool listed, maybe I missed it but I didn't have any luck doing a good old search on the web either including Home Depots web site. Anyone know if this tool exist or was I hallucinating.
  12. Yah I should have had them by now. It's one of those things you know you want to do but keep putting it off. I haven't used the saw since last fall so I haven't really given it much thought but it's just about time to get started on some outside projects now that the weather is finally starting to warm up. I'll mostly use 1 myself but I figured it would be nice to have 2 for those times when 2 is better than 1. I used the one that came with the saw last year and got aggravated with the way it took so long to lower or raise it. I guess I don't have as much patience as I use to have. I'm just going leave them both mounted on the saw lock and loaded.
  13. Well I finally ordered 2 of these clamps. I'm not going to wait forever for DeWalts confirmation on these. I trust everyone here who's tried them to know whether of not if they work or not. Seems that the consensus here is they will work. I'll post my experience with them when they arrive.
  14. Just an update on this discussion,DeWalt still hasn't updated the description for this clamp on their web site. Somebody working there dropped the ball or they just just don't care to do anymore than they have to.
  15. Check out this topic same deal with the blade on the DWS780 Miter saw, Which Compound miter saw stand in power tools General Talk
  16. I went over to TIA to check it out and tried to register. I had a message that an email was sent to my email address which is part of the registration process. I've checked my email for two days now still no email. I even checked the spam, nothing there either. I tried logging on and couldn't. When I registered I double checked everything to be sure there was no errors, spelling with my information I provided so it would be a smooth and simple process, not!
  17. DeWalt should offer brushless in their 12V and 20V complete tool lineup not just a select few like now.
  18. I'm interested in this also. Right from the start I thought the slide was rough feeling. The saw itself is a fine tool but it just don't feel as smooth as I think it could be. I was in Lowes one night and started checking out the other saws for comparison. Next time your in Lowes check out the DWS780 equivalent Kobalt saw, it glides so smooth there's hardly any resistance. Their slide system puts the DeWalt to shame, just saying.
  19. Welcome to the forum. You can never have enough tools when your a home owner because there's always something to do around the home. I've always said rather than pay someone else to do the work for me, I'll use that money to buy the tools I need to do the job myself and then I have them for future jobs that come up. I get a lot of satisfaction doing the work myself. They basically pay for themselves the first time you use them. DeWalt came out with the 20V Max the year after I bought my 18V Drill Driver and Impact Driver. I'm not real upset about it because the amount of work I accomplished and time I saved with those tools during that year more than paid for themselves. I've been thinking about picking up those same Brushless tools you just bought just because they are so kool. I picked up the new DeWalt DWS780 miter saw this year and recently had a chance to use it for the first time on a small project and I can't say enough good things about it. Best saw I ever used. I have big plans for that saw. DeWalt really has some nice new tools lately, look out.
  20. Thank you for that, I had sent a request also. Hope they follow through on this.
  21. I have recieved several replies back from DeWalt dealers in reference to this DW7082 clamp. I simply wanted to know if this speed clamp that they were selling, that fit previous DeWalt miter saws including the DW718 would work on the DWS780. I don't know why they just don't get it, they reply back with the part numbers for the stock clamp that came with the saw. I never asked about the stock clamp, I asked if the DW7082 clamp they were selling would fit the DWS780, how hard is that? I also emailed DeWalt with this same question and they replied with, this is a specific clamp for the DWS780 and the part number is N142123, it can be ordered from our parts dept. If DeWalt doesn't know if the DW7082 will fit the DWS780 then why don't they? Mr. Yellow thank you very much for your confirmation on the DW7082 clamp.
  22. That's looks like the one I had in mind only the part number is DW7082, actually that number is now obsolete and the new part number is 153650-00. Looks like the same as the DE7082. Everyone that sells it including DeWalt does not list it for using it with the DWS780. I agree the one that comes with the saw is crap. Thanks for the tip.
  23. Is DeWalt ever coming out with a quick adjust clamp for the DWS780? The one that comes with the saw takes way to long.
  24. Sounds like your problem is just to much suction. Most vacs have a draft control to regulate the suction which I would bet would work for your situation. I'm using a ridgid shop vac and there's plenty of suction but the rubber flaps are not pulled inwards. You could try modifing your setup to see if it would work or not. Basically all you would be doing is creating an opening that can be adjsted in size toward the end of the hose/saw end that allows you to reduce the suction by pulling air through both openings at the same time. Maybe someone else has a better idea but I'd give it a try in the mean time.
