    DeWalt

So busy buying tools he doesn't have time to unpack them. Not even to hang that clock on a wall ;)

If that place ever gets organized we'd like to see some overview shots.

  2. Bought me some yellow stuff again. I'll admit it. I'm an addict...

A 2-pack of 18V 5.0Ah bluetooth batteries. One for my Toughsystem Music and the other for my DCS361 that should be here in a few days.

    The DS350 Toughsystem Open Tote

A 3-pack of blades for my circular saw

and 3 pre-cut 57mm kaizen foam inserts from eBay. 2 for T-stak and 1 for Toughsystem. Worked out cheaper than buying a regular sheet from a dealer around here.

  3. I have a couple of bluetooth batteries and although right now its use (for me) is limited I do like it. I was looking to find a way to rename my batteries in the app and found out you have to unpair them and then pair again and give them the desired name.
It would be nice to do that instantly actually. Another thing that would be nice is to see which kind of battery it is in the overview. So it says 18V (20v Max in US) and 5.0Ah for example.

I like the new feature from the last update where you can see on a map where the batteries were last seen. That works really accurate.

The only complaint I kinda have is that the look of the app doesn't really fit with the latest iOS versions, but that's doesn't affect its functionality.
Perhaps also add a feature to the notifications where you can get a notification when a battery is too cold to charge.

  4. So I have this dust shroud and it keeps going through my hands, but I can't use it. I bought this early last year I think or maybe earlier for my DeWALT grinder (D28137)
When it came in I set it aside and by the time I wanted to use it I found out it didn't fit my grinder as it had an anti-vibration flange (fixed) so the dust shroud couldn't be attached.
Kept it in storage for future use. Halfway last year I bought a new grinder DWE4217. This has a different guard design so the dust shroud doesn't connect at all.
A couple of weeks ago I learned from my DeWALT rep that there is a type 2 version of this shroud that does fit the new grinders, but I was unaware of this. It was never featured in any flyer or documentation as far as I know. He said he would exchange mine for a type 2, but I think he forgot all about it and I don't like to ask.

So I'm giving this shroud away for free to a TIA member. It's never been used. I don't have the packaging anymore, but who cares...
Will ship to USA ofcourse as that's where most of you are. Just one thing. I'd like this to go to someone that will actually use it and not just (or only) to add to ones tool collection.
I mean, it's a freaking DeWALT. It needs to be used. Be tough, be yellow!

    Free shipping!

  5. I'm really liking the new forum. Feels a bit more modern or something. Liking the notifications and this version supports shortlinks for images, which is great. Go Chevy, go Chevy! ;)

Another 'bug' I noticed is in the reply field. When you hit enter after a sentence it gives an extra space rather than starting right below the previous sentence.

  6. Better LED's too? It does have that precision mode (speed 1) which would come in handy for me as I use my impact for everything. I never use a regular drill for fastening. And 2 impacts is better than 1 right.... ::)

  7. It's not directly aimed at you Protoolnut. Don't get me wrong. It's just for the overall look of the forum. I've seen boards where you literally have scroll through banners and signature to find the content that matters.

As for the font size. You're doing it wrong ;)  I mean, you post your comment in big fonts, but all the rest is default (which is too small for you, as you said) so it makes no sense to me or am I missing something? I guess it's easier to change the overall view in your browser instead so you see all text in the size you want?

And the font size limit suggestion was only for signatures. Not regular posts.

  8. I see signatures are back. Please limit the picture size for signatures. Not to be offensive, but in the example of Protoolnut...is that really necessary? Sooner or later you have to crawl through all the flashy signatures to find the content. If it was me, I disabled coloured text (ok, yellow is allowed...just kidding), font size (just the standard size) and allowed only 1 line of text to keep things tight on here. There are member profiles where one can show off their love for one brand or another as much as they want.

Also on the forum there are huge lists under some usernames. That stuff should really go into the profile. Stuff like hobbies, occupation, first name etc. Don't think we need that directly on the forum, but instead 'hide' that in the profile section. I think just the username / title / avatar / group / postcount / location is enough to show as default. Anything else makes it unnecessary cluttered.

  9. I think they discontinued the D55155. I would get the D55146 if I were in the States. That's a nice wheeled compressor.

I got an email from the commercial director for Oldham Van Centre today. They took the picture down and changed it for one on which they actually did the conversion.

He confirmed their 'marketing department' took the picture from stock photos freely available on the internet. I don't know. I don't call any photo you can find on Google or the likes a stock photo. Anyway, he was kind and understanding so all good. Better for them too because advertizing with something you didn't build can get you into some awkward situations.
