That makes sense!! My relatives are a bit further north, about 45 minutes north of bar harbor
Crazy thing is my sister in law is actually in Ogunquit this weekend with her boyfriend
You know I've driven right past there over a hundred times on my way up north and have never stopped.. maybe this summer I'll make a point to go

Thanks guys!! I'll keep you posted, I'm stoked to get them
The planer is the same model as in the us but I was able to save a bunch getting it in Canada
Yeah Chris, I'm really looking forward to the jigsaw.. it looks to be decent competition for the carvex.. I have the corded carvex and love it but don't have any festool batteries, really want to go cordless and think the makita is a good alternative..

Chris, great review/unboxing man!! Plenty of time for little improvements.. the cool thing is that you just did it! I've thought a lot about about doing little videos but worry too much about making them perfect that I've never actually done one.. I've gotta just jump in one day
Why in the world don't they give you guys snow tires?!?!?! That's crazy to me.

Nice job, that space looks a lot nicer now

I finally broke down and bought the new makita brushless barrel grip jigsaw, cordless planer and updated (from what we have in the US) cordless stick vac.
I'll let you guys know how the shipping process goes and what I think of them when they arive

If your buying a gun stick with paper tape or wire collated full head nails. Wire being the best imo. The plastic collated are nice but the spit bits of plastic everywhere..
For a repair like yours I would most likely frame it with screws. Get some nice grk r4 9 × 3 1/8" and go to town..

awesome.....when I was an apprentice in the early 80's my job for 3 weeks was to go and file all the vices and re-knurl the plates
Sounds like fun :/
Filing them was to make the jaws parallel and the re-knurl them or just file to re-knurl??

On my phone I can't really tell but it looks like there is some t-track in the picture... any cool plans for that?

I wish they did a full redesign of the case .. they should get that thing as small as they can
I have two of the older ones and they are good.. can't kill the if I try. The reception is not great but they are old and I'm sure that's corrected in any of the last several redesigns. I just wish they would shrink the darn thing!

I'm pretty lucky with my lumberyard.. we have a few in the area and the one I use is actually usually the most expensive but they have great materials, 99% of the stuff is indoors or covered, they have entirely paved lots that they magnetically sweep to prevent nails in the tires and good guys both in the office and most importantly in the yard and driving the trucks.. I set a pretty clear standard with the guys in the yard early on that I'm picky and won't accept crap.. I was able to do it in a way that made them respect me instead of resent me every time I show up.. make friends with the yard guys and it will pay. my lumber yard usually has very nice material too choose from but even so, they are all more than happy to dig through stacks with me or my guys to find just the right pieces
Also it might not hurt to mention your issues with someone in the office.. even the owner, there is a chance that they recently switched mills or providers and your feedback could be useful to them.. maybe your not the only one complaining and they will make a change...

I have read through many comparisons on both and from memory can remember that the makita consistently cuts quicker in the same test as the Milwaukee. quicker by a decent margin also..
if it's cutting the same board quicker then it must have more power (it's not bogging down as much as the Milwaukee must be)
I own the makita, the thing is a power house.. you can hear and feel the difference the first time you squeeze the trigger (only other cordless saw I have to compare it to is the older 6.5" makita).. the other day I was able to rip 120lf of 2x8 with one set of batteries, the saw never stalled or over heated once. I wasn't babying it eathier, I was cutting as fast as I wanted to be and it just kept right up. I was pretty impressed at that point!!

I got the bosch gll3-80 during the summer and it is sweet!! Like really nice..
I used a cts berger ilm-XT for many years and really liked it but it is sooooo much nicer to have 360
Two must features for me is to be able to lock the beam and also self leveling

I can't wait to see that happen, that and the higher cap batteries. When I won UTB I got the wireless kit and a separate charger and 4.0 for the brushless multi tool that is coming. I'd love to be able to add a wireless 4.0 pack to it.
Additionally, I bought my first set of 12v 2.0 batteries and charger kit for my new FL12 work light which is really complimenting my Festool Syslite. Awesome work light from Bosch...really helpful.
Chris, still haven't gotten that multitool yet?! I wonder if they had stock issues with it or something. Seems like Bosch got you all the other stuff quickly.

Very nice haul. Those automaxx clamps are great. If you spend any amount of time using the old style clamps and ever changes material thickness your gonna love the automaxx

The system in my house is Napco equipment. Our smoke/CO and windows are wireless and the keypad, motions and doors are wired.. So far so good. The window battery's went after about 2+ years or so and I changed them all along with smokes at the same time. It gave a nice warning on the keypad for quite some time before I got around to changing them so it's not like they just die without warning.
I had it installed and monitored by a local company.

Nice looking shop!
are you loading the pictures from tour phone? Sometimes that does screwy things to them.. I have fount that if you take pictures with your phone in landscape position (wide) they tend to upload to the forum better..
if they are coming from your computer I'm not sure what could be up..
Are you holding your camera upside down maybe?? Haha. Just kidding
