  1. Acme and tool barn have had them a year but HD tends to drag their ass with newer tool releases, I was shocked to see the M18 search light already in stores but I'd imagine they think you'll be more likely to buy a light than a cordless planer, silly box stores

It's all about real estate. Shelf space. Every inch of every store is meticulously planned. I've also noticed that some products sit in too stock of certain stores for months and begin to show inventory online. I have a feeling it's part of their marketing strategy. Kind of like when a new pair of Jordan Shoes are released. Stores have them for 1-2 weeks before the release but can't sell them until a specific day to make sure each store has a fair shot in selling the products. I think we are seeing that with HD. they can't stock the shelves until all stores have product or they are waiting for shelf space contracts to expire for new planograms.
  2. any idea on prices ?

    the are both bare tools

the DCP580 planer has been available in Europ for more than 6 months !

of course I own one, a very nice tool

The D-Handle drill will be available 1. April in EU

Planer is $179 and Rotary hammer is $189.
  3. The only place I could find anything on the 29oz conversion kit was in the ServiceNet parts list for the 29oz gun. It looks like you would need several parts to do the conversion. The parts I believe you would need are 642408-00 (Rod Plunger), 5140187-84 (Conversion Kit, which is just the tube tray), and 639729-01 (Plunger) which looks to be a total of $184.22 without shipping.

At that price honestly if I were doing this I would buy the 29oz gun bare tool instead of the parts since it's $40 more but gives me another caulk gun. Dewalt might be able to give you a part number for the entire conversion kit or a better price than buying them separately. Their customer service number is 1-800-433-9258.

Wow! I can't imagine a conversion being more than $50-60 to make it appealing to the end user. Service parts are always more expensive.
  4. Anyone know where I can get the additional interchangeable canister trays for the DCE560?

I'm considering purchasing the 10oz caulk gun but I really need the 29oz and the sausage packs to go with it. I know if I buy the 10oz gun, I'll need the 29oz version for a job and if I buy the 29oz, I'll need the 10oz or sausage canister. I just want to get it all in one swoop.

  5. Really....that would suck ,because it is definitely being used outside in the rain and snow....I haven't read any info on it anywhere and acme didn't know....

Drip a drop of water in there and see if it changes colors.

It's difficult to tell from the photo but it looks like it has the same texture as the "moisture indicators" on phones. They'll change color when they're exposed to moisture and ultimately leading to warranty denial.
  7. Sounds like that grinder powered through like a champ.

I put in a farmhouse sink when we remodeled our kitchen last year. It was actually easier than I expected (they are some heavy SOB's though), and it looks awesome. That being said, we ripped up the countertops and had new ones installed as well, so I didn't have to worry about the cutting/shaping/polishing, which is the hardest part I'd assume.

Let us know how it turns out!

It did for sure! I even through on a 7" segmented wheel for a few cuts that I needed some depth for. You pull that trigger and it can get squirrelly on you. Definitely hold it off your work and let it get up to speed before cutting or grinding.
