  1. I assume this is a us only release so far.

any word on an eu release.

I am in the market for a blower. I was going to buy a petrol one but this would be great . I only need it for a small bit at home but would use it on sites for clean up of the yard after sawing etc.

I would be interested in a hedge trimmer . it would be good for light touching up of hedges. little and often affair

  2. I have the incra fence on mine connected to my festool ct22 vac with a short 50mm hose.

suction and dc are amazing but there is always a small bit that finds its way down.

I discovered this one day I was outing  loads of pine . I was creating a special moulded piece for the top of some wainscoting . several hours into routing I look under the table to see a huge pile of chips and dust. I was shocked . luckily I didn't cook the router it was up to the bottom of it

  3. I don't see a cordless router taking over from a proper corded router. yet anyway

I can see a laminate trimmer and small plunge router being made.

I can only see people wanting a cordless router for small jobs. a quick round over  or route a hinge mortise.

  4. Makita has a small sander.

I cant wait for a portable router, I don't see why its not possible.

im not sure I would need a belt sander to be cordless . usually if you need a belt sander it is a bigger job  and worth setting up a corded one

  5. iv been thinking about this some more

if you have either of these saws you will probably have several other tools and batteries from their line up.

on most jobs that you would be doing . you could be cutting  and driving  screws. with that logic (as presumptions' and flawed as it is) you would need 6 batteries  for the Makita and 4 for the Milwaukee . 2 in the saw , 2 charging, 1 in the impact  and 1 charging

  6. i was talking to 2 other trades today on a small job. spark and plumber. one has Milwaukee and the other dewalt , same as myself.

they were admiring my dewalt tough boxes and trolley.

anyway. we got talking about the ah on the batteries. they have 3ah and 4ah s .

they agreed that they wouldn't go 5ah unless they needed more tools and would get them just to get the new ones over the older ones on the kit.

the general view between the 3 of us  was that at 185 euro is isn't worth the extra cost.

if you wanted 2 6ah that would be 370euro for 12ah total  but if you went for dewalt 4ah you could get 12ah total for 300euro. and you have 3 batteries in 3 tools not 2 tools. ,. and you would still have 70 euro in your pocket.

you could go 5ah and still have money in your pocket.

  7. I will say that the suction on these vacs isn't a good as a full size models. but that is not why you buy one of these. you buy it for convenience  on site where you make a small mess in a few locations.

I did a job yesterday putting up curtain poles . sds in one hand hose in the other. no dust. I went from room to room really fast because there was no cords holding me back

about 2 months ago I was working on a site but we had to stay late a few evening  in the shop section after hours

it wasn't worth going home so I ate in the van and then use the vac to clean it. I even had glass cleaner etc with me to do the windows

I got a few funny looks but I didn't car. there wasn't enough suction to properly clean the carpet but it got all the loose dirt.

  8. I don't see the need for a 28 volt line.

they are too big and clunky compared to the 18 volt tools but are under powered compared to the 36volt tools.

I don't think it would be worth buying into a 28volt line

  9. I was thinking it was the smaller one.

that hose is too small  for that job.

and to make it worse the hose cuff goes into the dc port making it smaller

when I put my ct22 festool vac on my ts55 with the 27mm hose  , you can really notice the reduced dust collection compared to the 36mm.

basically he is comparing different saws dust collection  using 2 vacs that are extracting at 2 completely different rates.

this in itself invalidates the review. you are comparing apples to oranges

  10. at first I thought it was ok

i think there are 3 things wrong with this review

he doesn't use the same blade in all saws

he is only measuring the heavy dust that settle and not the dust that blew outside his box

he uses 2 different extractors. im not sure why. surely he could have used the same machine but with some kind of adapter. is that a 36mm or 28mm hose on the festool.

  11. my dealer assures me it should be here around July here in Europe.

he got in a few of the older ones for a customer that needed them. I was going to buy one there and then  but he talked me into waiting.

I have my small compressor and bostitch nailer  so its not too bad.

  12. I have been thinking about this lately .

I don't think I would cut into the box

I would put the router inside the largest box . open the lid an use the router. close it again

I am thinking about making a systand version for the tough box.
