I do agree that Dewalt seems to be working at a snail’s pace lately. The lack of FlexVolt announcements especially make me roll my eyes and think “well, platform flavour of the week might be coming to an end”, even though I know it isn’t. Seriously though. A steady drip of goodies builds more confidence.

Yea I'm a bit perplexed, the came to war and dropped a bomb, then followed that up with Snakes and Sparklers. 🤔

Awesome so dewalt has some new brushless jigsaw coming

I'll never understand why this, of all tools, would be a priority over obvious missing tools in the lineup. It's literally the last tool that needs to be brushless.

  3. For me the biggest thing for Dewalt is ergonomics. Every time I pick up something from another brand I feel like I get dropped off in 1989.

I've had very few tool failures and no battery failures in the last 11 years. Reliability is key to making money.

That said, Dewalt makes, consistently, the most worthless, punishing reciprocating saws to have ever existed. If this is a key tool for you...run. I have one of the compacts that sits on a shelf in my tool trailer. The only reason I keep it there is because when the day comes that Dewalt actually produces something that isn't complete dog shit, I'm going to take that medieval torture device out, set it on the concrete, and beat it with a sledgehammer until it's not yellow anymore.

Dewalt reciprocating saws are absolute trash. The XR compact is an upgrade but it will still rattle the chiclets out of your skull.

The FlexVolt is too unrefined and clearly built to a price point.

The 20v Max at work is in great shape because it’s a piece of crap that everyone avoids like the plague.

Milwaukees are the Sawzalls at work in the worst shape because theyre used the most and the ones everyone bicker over.

I’m a big Dewalt fan, and I’ve sold my Fuel Sawzall and Hackzall to upgrade. Hopefully the new Fuel light a fire under Dewalt’s ass; unfortunately for them I’m upgrading to the new Fuel Super Sawzall and M18 Fuel Hackzall. It’s much the same as impact wrenches; in some areas Dewalt is just thoroughly outclassed.

    This.

was going to be 120v. It made so much sense.
They could literally take over every commercial job site. No power, no longer problem, slap in 2 batteries and go. No Batteries, plug it in.
Table saws, chop saws, mitre saws, SDS Max.
    It would have been beautiful!

I totally agree, they're missing out on their own advantages right now and by the time they push the line others will have figured out how to compete as well. I think they were disappointed with the sales of the cordless 12in but so many people, like me, already have the DWS780 or comparable corded saw and can't justify the upgrade until prices come down more. I'm waiting till I can sell my 780 and not take too much of a loss to go cordless. A cordless DWE7491 should have been a day 1 launch for Flex as well. 2400-3000w power station is a no-brainer now that the 12's are coming too.
