Yea Theater got wrecked I heard, most of the fish died but the Dolphins did well. They took most of the other critters north. I have 3 friends that work there as Dolphin, Sea Lion, and Parrot trainers.

Just coming back from Key West which was directly hit by Hurricane Irma and I beg to differ.
I don't believe in battery chainsaws.
A guy had the makita 2 battery was seriously a joke.
1) You should have hit me up and got a beer.
2) Key West wasn't directly hit by Irma, Big Pine, Summerland and Cudjoe Key got the buisness. I stayed in Key Largo for the storm at my friends house.

I think that piece of shit charger is to blame. Dear Dewalt, pay attention and stop this madness.

Yep, firm pass. I'll buy bare tool and the new rapid charger.

Anyone confirm what charger comes in the kit yet?

that's a fantastic photo. was that REALLY you Hugh??
No that was the picture I saw that gave me the idea that was hanging in our office trailer. I don't have a picture of the dickhead I screwed over.

I had a guy talking shit to me on a job once, so I dug a moat around his truck with an excavator. Got the idea from a picture that was hanging in our office trailer.

Trailer is bolted down to the concrete slab under the house. Storm surge might flood it but it's not going without a fight.

Yea I hear ya, the Keys are about to get raped without lube. If ya'll don't hear from me for a while I have a safe place to stay, solid monolithic concrete poured home and a ton of supplies.

really? I heard about this but wasn't sure if it was true. Didn't see anything about this at DeWALT Experience. Unless I missed it.
The Dewalt Experience was half baked in the first place. They had a number of new things, some of them there, that they didn't even bother to discuss.

Damn man that's horrible, you had like 20 batteries...I'd cry if that happened to me. I've been contemplating looking into GPS'ing a few of my bigger tools in case this happens I have a small window to catch the thief.
Check your insurances to see if you're covered, might get lucky.

Psh, I leave all my batteries in my tool trailer that daily sees interior temps around 130 degrees. I still have 2 3ah batteries from the 20v launch that are still working just fine.
It's not like it used to be. Number of discharges has a lot more to do with longevity than anything else.

Sounds like work...I'm pretending to be a vegetable this weekend. This summer has melted away all of my motivation.

Hm. I took too superficial of a look at it. It looks like a worm drive, but I see now that it's still a direct drive saw with a rear handle added. Maybe I'll get one and add a beam saw attachment anyway.
Don't underestimate it, it's putting out 2400 watts of power. The 6 1/2" 20v puts out 640w in comparison, it's a beast...but we don't know how it does in a torque situation yet, I'd guess just fine.

Thats a great setup. Let me know how you like it.

The big question is, do the fast chargers reduce battery life? At some point you would hit maximum efficiency for charging and battery life, charge faster than that and you will introduce too much heat and reduce the number of charges a battery will take over the life of a battery. Are you willing to replace all your batteries after one year to get faster charging or would you rather they last 3 years and just have to charge longer?
If you asked every other manufacturer that has a rapid charger years ahead of Dewalt, they'd probably tell you your arguement is invalid.
-
That is one attractive hammer.
-
Yea I don't know if it truly has the torque to plow a chain through big timbers like a worm drive would but it would probably do okay just a bit slower.
If you do go this route let us know how it goes, that would be one hell of a good test.
