  1. 40-50% is supposed to be the best for long term storage.

Just don't leave them completely discharged.

Thanks, I'll never leave them empty but is it a good idea to run them to empty every so often. I tend to throw them on charge once I'm down to a one bar
  2. So can someone enlighten me in few words as possible as I get confused or forget the start of a long post by the time I reach the end. I've dewalt 18v (20v in U.S) should I charge once the battery is indicating one bar and store at full charge till the next use.

  3. yeah it would but that washer just replaces the stock washer. needs to be motion activated.

the EU model has a build-in laser....weird that the US model didnt get the laser, prolly because of some laws or so

How durable do you find the saw, seems to be a lot of plastic bits from pics, I'm stuck between purchasing this on the dewalt 780 but I find the slide rough on the dewalt well the display model was anyway

  4. Thanks for the info man. If I can get my accountant at home to let me cut loose of the cash I will probably try to get one ordered.

the cheapest I can get this in Ireland is €1350, you's get some killer deals over in the states
  5. How is it over there and ya you are kinda far

We've had it bad in the building sector in recent years, but things are finally taking a turn for the better. We are also enjoying a good spell of sunshine, a rarity here in Ireland. Have you a trade yourself?
  6. Nice job Turner, what'd you use for sharpening, that grinder in the back ground?

Thanks, yes that's a scheppach wetstone with a leather wheel on the opposite site that gives it that nice finish

  7. This turned out to be a bit of a letdown, i went with the intent to buy both the dws780 and the dch273. First off the dws780 was €100 more expensive than I can get it for elsewhere and that was a special show price. Then they hadn't even have the dch273 there but the older dch253 which is no interest in but the rep tried his hardest to get me buy to no avail. They also knew nothing about the cordless mitre saw and 16g nailer. Anyway I've since ordered my dch273 online and am currently shopping for the dws780

  8. The best I've seen in the states is small giveaways. At one show, they gave away promo items if you bought something in store.

It's here today and tomorrow, I'll be attending tomorrow and see can they tempt me into spending some money
  9. Wow you guys really know your stuff. I'm probably talking out of my butt here but I wonder if it would be possible to make a cordless tool adapter that would allow a cordless tool to plug in through an extension cord. Just a random thought I had

This is something I'm surprised we haven't seen yet. I believe it should be a feature on some cordless tools, mitre saw for example
  10. So far I've got the multi tool DCS335, drill/driver DCD990, impact driver DCF895 and the recip saw DCS387 in the cordless range. Must say I love all of them and waiting for a reason to need the DCF620 screwgun and hopefully the upcoming cordless brad nailer, haven't seen a glitch of that yet but I am pretty sure it will come out since they now released the cordless finish nailer.

Ive only just realised there's dcd990 and dcd995, are both these pretty similar. How do you find the recip, are the vibrations as bad as I've been reading.

  11. Having only just got into dewalt the past few months, I've been slowly picking up what tools they have gone brushless with, so far I've the,

    Multi tool

    Framing nailer

    Combi drill

    Impact driver.

Like you I would also like to see a new jigsaw with barrel handle and brushless grinder. I've still got the sds dch274 to save for in the meantime then hopefully the 16g nailer comes along. But seen other companies with there brushless versions of tools you need is quiet tempting to make you wanna mix colours, hopefully like me you have corded versions to keep you tied over till dewalt catch up
