  1. Hey that's totally understandable. At least you left an overhang, that will work good enough with some aluminum fascia along with some Housewrap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Basically every course of shingles has about 6" removed off the end. Installation instructions are provided with every type of shingle, however the installation are all similar. Usually 4-6 nails a shingle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. As far as "overlapping" goes... It's something like this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. There's countless options as far as colors go. There's also different styles of shingles. Color really doesn't make much of a difference in temperate of the roof deck... No matter what it's hot! However proper ventilation and insulation of your attic is what is key to stop the heat transfer. The photo above is what's called the underpayment or "tar paper" It's an additional leak protection before the shingles. There's a few ways to attach this, with the most common being t-50 style staples. That's what the Milwaukee hammer tacker takes and that's what I used to fasten the tar paper to the roof sheathing.
  5. This red guy sinks them every-time no questions asked! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hey guys if any of you are in the market for a hammer tacker forget about anything else... Buy the Milwaukee!! I've got 6 others and their all shit after a box of staples. I've got the Dewalt hammer tacker too. What a POS. I've warranted 3 out and they jam up, spill staples ugh!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How about the people who just "rattle can" their tools for identification? Common people! We're professionals ! Think of a better way. I personally use a yellow paint marker and outline certain areas on the tool so i can glance over and make sure it's mine
  8. I'm a full time carpenter. Work for myself and HAVE to take care of my shit, otherwise I don't make money. Few times a year I like to go through all my cordless tools and clean them up, blow all the debris out, lube all the quick locks and chucks, wipe them down etc. just got done doing that this evening.
  9. I've cooked 2 myself lol! The shaft came right out the front! I Have some pics on my old iPhone of the incident, I'll have to look for them and post them.
  10. Perhaps Dan and Eric would like to come with the Tia camera gear and give you an all out review of these professional products! Hahaha too funny but yes I'm serious!
  11. I think I'll take the train down there this weekend with some buddies and hit this place up hahaha. That's not unusual for us, we always like to venture even approving 30. I guess it's our inner youth. Lots of fun things to do in downtown Chicago. Not only that the Wisconsin/Illinois metra train allows you to bring alcohol on board. It's def a awesome train line for anyone who's familar with it.
  12. Lmao!!! so I got to thinking about all this and decided to google street their address with doing quite a bit of work in the Chicagoland region I thought I'd recognize the place. Well come to find out the address provided is located in the "China town" district of Chicago. Lumu tools is in the second story of this joint. Hahahahaha what's really going on!?!!!
  13. Fixed right fence, smaller capacity then most, short cord It just all around isn't worth the MSRP.
  14. Milwaukees full size miter saw is a joke In so many ways. I bought a Dewalt 12" and think it's probally the best thing they produce along with their table saws. Every manufacturer has its trade offs... To me 90% dewalts cordless system is laughable at best.. Milwaukee definitely has the upper hand in that category.. However I'd never use the one key. It's been over hyped for way to long but will probally be useful to large commercial firms.
  15. Yup any 30 degree. Only 1 stick and then some but if you keep some extra in your pouch it's not so bad.
  16. Ive had the fuel sawzall and the fuel 7 1/4 cut saw for just over a year. They honestly make me smile everytime I use them. It's crazy how far things have come. Usually at this point In time most people are getting bored with their stuff. Not me! I can't even begin to count how many blades I've gone through on the 7 1/4 from all the hours of cutting/ripping. It gets used for hours a day including cutting aluminum, ridge vents lmao you name it I've cut it! On average I use 1 5.0 battery a day.
  17. Well I finally pulled the trigger on a cordless framing gun. I enjoy using the paslode cordless but everytime I used a friends the fuel is half ass expired and while using it in a customers home they always ask what that "smell is". I'm satisfied with it thus far. I've been using it on and off the past few days building temporary scaffold and planks to complete the soffit and fascia on a garage I just built. Sinks 3 1/2 paslode brand .131 smooth shank nails into new lumber with ease. 3 1/2 ring shanks? Hope you've got your hammer ready! I think is a little overpriced for one battery, if Dewalt lowered it to 399 they'd make a lot more money.
