  1. Check this out looks like some pretty cool stuff coming
  2. Yeah I know crying like a little baby. I'll have to wait and see how they are
  3. All the hype for this. Another battery platform? What about the 40v OPE stuff that just came out last year, is that going away? Should I return my oil leaking, battery killing,no power having chainsaw I just bought? Yes I was doing that anyway. So I guess we are not getting a good 20v brushless recip saw, which is what I was hoping for more then anything else. Oh well. The area light and the threaded rod cutter does look interesting. The press tool is a definate for me. But all and all kind of a let down, I see the 60v stuff going the way of the 36 volt stuff especially if the price is too high. I also wasn't impressed with the milwaukee show either, I mean how many lights do you need?
  4. Found this on dewalts site. Not sure if it means anything
  5. Hello. Man I got this drill with Dewalts new impact and two 5ah batteries a few weeks ago. Let me say the drill is nice, I was drilling a bunch of 2 9/16" speedboar bit, I think it was around 10 or 12 holes through pressure treated 4x4's, normally I would use speed one, you know for the torque but I tried speed two on the drill and man that sucker was drilling those holes scary fast, it was literally throwing wood chips about two feet in circumference. The thing has a ton of power, might just beat the gen 2 fuel. And I love the light on it, it's amazing. The new impact is incredible also. Even the screw mode, I do hvac and take door panels on and off equipment and that mode is perfect for it, no more stripped holes. Also great for small screws and delicate detail work, I wouldn't recommend it for bigger deck screws or drywall screws. I absolutely love the impact. Also the e clutch on the drill is perfect how the drill will go into a lower speed as you go down with the clutch settings. Also seems the chuck is better now. Looks like my 995 is going be getting a break for awhile. Also the 996 will eat through concrete like butter. Glad to see Dewalt stepping up their game.
  6. It's about time Dewalt came out with a pipe press. We use the Milwaukee and the ridgid on a daily basis and they both are great. It's good to see Dewalt stepping up for the professionals. I hope it will be able to do gas pipe and stainless steel piping along with regular copper pipe, a bonus would be to be able to crimp HVAC copper and aluminum pipeing. This is now on my must have list.
  7. Hello everyone. Just a comment on the Milwaukee vs Dewalt thing. I am on team yellow not because I chose to be but it chose me. In 2011 I had to replace a stolen Ridgid gen 4 kit quickly. I was at Lowes and a Dewalt dcd985 kit looked liked the best thing on the shelf at the time so I got it. That was in 2011 and the 985 is still going strong everyday along with the impact, and I do HVAC so I use them hard from big hole saws to drilling 1/4 steel, crawling through crawl spaces to working 40' in the air on lifts. Now to my point. I am a spec of yellow in a sea of Milwaukee red here in my area, everybody is using Milwaukee, every supply store and hardware store is carrying Milwaukee. But everybody that has Milwaukee has had problems. One guy had a m18 fuel two days and was drilling a 1/2 hole in concrete and the motor fryed in it, another one has a fuel and the clutch settings do not work anymore, another one has to take the battery out of his m18 impact because the light will not go off. There is one Bosch guy who's drill literally fell apart in his hands. Now I'm just saying is Dewalt the best, no. Is Milwaukee the best, no. They both are good enough for what needs to be done. I think the real quality is in hilti from what I see. We have a hilti guy that comes around on our jobs all the time, nice as can be. And if somebody as a issue with on if there tools he takes care of it pronto. Hell they even come to our shop sometimes to check on a core drill we bought from them. Sorry for the long post just my dimes worth
