  2. Nice review Zach, thought I'd take a look after my scope earlier in the week. The bracers look like a good idea to take a bit of weight off the hips.

Going to see if they stock them down in OZ somewhere.

    Take care mate.

Regopit done the real review. I just posted that I really enjoyed the belt in case someone else was looking for one. Then regopit said he was going to do a review on the belt a month after my post. I guess I kind of reviewed it. I just don't want to take credit for regos work. If that is what you was talking about the review of the belt by rego. Thanks James. Hope you find one down under mate. Talk to you soon. Enjoyed your pocket door install vid on YouTube.

  3. Hey guys I'm new to this forum and I would just like some insight from people who have or know about drills.

I'm looking into something for basic around the house maintenance. I'm not gonna be doing anything major just simple things like driving. I'm looking into something like the Festool CXS and maybe a Metabo but I'd like to hear what people that actually have these tools think of them.

All suggestions are welcomed and I hope to talk to you all soon :)

(if there is a certain thread I should look at or if this was talked about already, the redirection is welcomed)

I think any 12v line would be good for anything around the house. Makita Dewalt Milwaukee all have good stuff to chose from.

  4. This was going to be posted back in January but it did not make it so here it is.

    Milwaukee suspension tool belt

If you are one of those guys that like to carry around 50 pounds of nails and every tool you own on your tool belt this one is not for you. This belt is design more for the remodeler or installer. It has pouches for everything you need and a little more. Built with 1680Denier Nylon, Riveted Seams, and All Metal Hardware, Milwaukee work gear is up to 5X More Durable than competitive products and provides users with unmatched Durability, Comfort and Organization.

The Contractor Work Belt w/ Suspension Rig provides users with 24 organizational pockets and incorporates handles that allow the belt to be easily removed, stored, and transported. A plastic lined puncture-resistant pocket allows users to store sharp objects, such as jab saws, without worry of damaging their bags and the included work belt is padded and breathable for all day comfort. The included suspenders feature a universal smart phone pocket and provide users with comfort while on the jobsite.

Like many I have my belt set up with the tools I like to keep hands reach. Hammer tape measure, square, awl, razor knife, nail puller, chalk line, jab saw and nail punch. I find that the suspension rig has plenty of shoulder padding and is comfortable to wear. As for the smart phone pocket I mostly use it for my laser distance measurer. The pockets are a good size and it also has a spot for you speed square. The belt itself is heavy duty and fits up to size 52. The rig comes set up with the pouches on the sides and the hammer hook in the middle. I personally don’t like the hook in the middle of my back so I moved it to my side. The system is very easy to add or remove pouches to meet your needs.

Spot on review man. I'm glad another person sees the same things I did in the belt. I'm still enjoying putting mine on. I usally use the phone pocket for my cigarettes. Lol. Good review man. I was wondering when it was coming out.

My dog loves to look out the window but has been destroying my sill so I decided to make him a bed that would raise him up and hopefully protect my window. I decided to build it with all pocket holes. I bought the Kreg mini pocket hole jig which worked pretty good. Used some black stain and then sanded it a bit for an antique look. The last picture doesn't do the " antique look" justice, but I will be going back and giving it a little more aggressive sanding to enhance the look. It's big but the dog loves it so I'm happy it worked out. Now to replace the sill...

He looks happy in his new bed. for sure!

  7. Yeah apparently the guy has had it for years and used it off and on throughout and never had any issues, but he had the correct drill. He's unwilling to sell it though as he still uses it. The model wore off it as well apparently so the most info he could give me about it was "2 speed hitachi drill". As I mentioned before, I'm crazy enough to use it at least until I can afford something decent worth buying because I'm doing everything on the cheap right now.

Mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. I would use it too if I had too. Or if it was all I had.

  8. My Bosch demo hammer finally died after 4-5 years of abuse. The bosch was good to me, and didn't owe me anything, but came across a deal on a hilti TE800 with a bunch of the new bits and pulled the trigger. It looks and feels bigger then the Bosch If it hits harder I'm sure i will be pleased. I will put this tool through the test.

although this will not use the SDS Max bits that i have acquired, i will be buying a large rotary hammer in the near future where they will see some use. Especially the clay spade and ground rod driver.

I really enjoy using Hilti tools too. I don't know why but they just feel right and run like a tool should. And look good doing it. Good buy man.

  9. How you doing gents! I need some insight on screw drivers. The cheap ones I've had for years recently have become unreliable and I'm looking to replace them. Any suggestions on brands and or what kind to get?

Most of the screw driver guys here talk highly of the wera and wira screw drivers. I just use ones that I find at yard sells and my building supply gives me stuff like that. Last time the gave me a set of dewalt screw drivers. They are good. You can't beat on them or the metal part goes in the handle after a lot of beating. I show a pick.
