Ive never used either the DWS780 or DWS790 so I have no idea if power or performance is different between the 2

I suppose I'll go again. I would like to see a digital fence for table saws, bandsaws, etc. Also a digital stop block system for miter saws. Essentially there would be a display telling the user the distance from blade. If user moves fence or stop block the display updates the distance. The user can also set a distance and push the fence/stop block close to the measurement they desire and the fence/stop block automatically precisely adjusts to correct distance then locks. Also in the miter saw version if you don't need a stop block especially for quick cuts you can just fold the stop block down so its not in the way.

Only the compact packs are supposed to work. The 3.0 and higher shouldn't work from what I've heard. Only the 1.5 and 2.0 should work in them. I have never used one before so I don't know what actually works.

I watched a video heres the link. One guys says the flexvolt is faster and smoother. I thought someone said it had more power but I guess not.

I heard the flexvolt miter saw performs better than the corded version.

if its 18 volt dewalt I suggest upgrading to 20 volt and brushless

Or a screw gun where you can turn impact on or off... all in one
actually makita has something like this. Its a drill, impact, hammer all in one. heres the link. https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/XPT03
As for the blade health all you really need would to have a scan mode when you first instal the blade which would be a super powerful camera with great closeup capabilities and also has high speed camera capabilities. The blade would do a slow rotation so the camera can scan it then it will allow for normal use of the saw. When running the saw the camera could help determine if the blade is running like it should then every so often maybe every 50 to 100 times the saw gets turned on it will do the scan mode again to do a more in depth blade evaluation.

Doesn't Milwaukee just have limited warranty? Doesn't limited warranty only fix issues that include defects or problems caused from the factory? Didn't think wear and tear was covered.

I had an idea of a game where you name a tool. It can be any tool whether its pliers, a hammerdrill, or even a wide belt sander. It can be any tool you can think of. Then once you think of a tool you gotta think of a feature not currently in that tool from any company. Also please explain your wanted feature if its not very straight forward.
I suppose Ill start. I would like to see a health sensors on table saws. It would essentially tell the user blade life, motor status and determine if the belts are in good condition. You could just connect you phone to the saw via bluetooth and you get all the tool status via an app.- 1

You mentioned brushes, so even if it were a cheap, easy, or whatever fix it may be in your best interest to get a brushless model because of the motor gets hot less quickly, it has better runtime, and is more powerful.

I have actually never heard of that before. Thanks for the link!
I like how whirlwind is bringing flesh technology to tools other than tablesaws. I think all tools need some kind of safety measure to prevent harm to the user. It doesn't gotta be flesh sensing or as fancy as say SawStop or Reaxx. Theres always going to be a chance where a user gets in a rush and forgets to use proper use of tool and/or use proper safety measures and looses a finger or gets hurt in some other way.- 1

Go to the Wood Whisperer. He's got one painted in flames from the factory!
he was actually the one where I heard about the finger sensing add on to table saws. Seen pictures of it on a bandsaw, scrollsaw, and lathe. So maybe it adds safety to these tools as well?

At school I had the opportunity to use one of the Bosch orbital sanders and it worked great. The tool had a nice balance even with the rectangular dust extractor installed, the variable speed was a handy feature because you could lower the speed for removing scratches quicker, and it had a trigger and a trigger lock so you aren't required to hold down the trigger but have the option to if needed. I suggest not getting a palm sander but instead get one with a handle on the back. Also variable speed if a must.

I would like to own a Powermatic table saw with built in router table. I heard their table saw is one of the best.

The charge time is just one problem. The size required for a 9 AH 60v pack would be roughly 5x the size of the current battery. Next try to imagine how to get the heat out of all those cells under load. I'm pretty sure that sort of power is going to require a significant advance in density before it sees the light of day.
I thought higher voltages heat up less quickly than lower voltages and a reason being they are more efficient? -

Might as well put it on a back pack it would be so big because I don't see that happening with the tech available at this time
It was a what if scenario and I said it was same size as current flexvolt battery. I suppose a super fast charger would need to be designed so it don't take all day to charge or just design a battery that uses more advanced technology than lithium ion. -
If the Flexvolt was 60v at 9.0 amp hours instead of 2.0 in a package the size of the current flexvolt, would it be gameover for high demand m18 tools until an m54 comes out?

In regards to cutting drywall boxes I heard oscillating multitools do a good job. Could be an alternate option to a drywall cutting tool.

I don't know laws on solar panels but would buying your own then finding tutorials about install and maintenance still work. Might be free power if you don't have to sell to the power company.

Days later, the response:
did they give you an extra discount for being on backorder? I would think it should be the least they can do considering its been weeks after the scheduled release date.

Basically it's a "defective saw" because the power tool companies "colluded" to keep the sawstop technology out of it, but it is okay that sawstop calls for a stop when a power tool manufacturer makes their own improved design completely different from theirs. In all fairness I hear the Reaxx is a far inferior saw but superior safety mechanism.
gernerally speaking the SawStop and Reaxx are different kinds of saws. Reaxx is job site saw and SawStop in many cases reffers to one of their cabinet grade models. Maybe not their job site saw? I wonder if many companies secretly are making their own flesh sensing saw but wont release until SawStop stops suing companies. I seen something a while back that wasn't a tablesaw with flesh sensing tech but more an attachment to the top of the saw with flesh sensing tech. It wasn't technically part of the saw just an attachment on top. I wonder if its still around or if SawStop has stopped it from being built.

Well, I just cancelled my circular saw order, simply because I now have my eye on the track saw, if it does indeed appear in the US at some point.
Still waiting on the grinder and recip, however...
Im gonna keep my circular saw order because I utilized the free tool deal and would like to keep the free tool. Also I'm thinking about selling the circular saw if I decided I would need the tracksaw more than the circular. I wish I had the option for a tracksaw now but I don't know how useful it would be on the jobsite for house building. Would be more interested in using it for furniture as something to cut sheet material because I don't have the budget or space for a cabinet grade tablesaw. Would also make for easy accurate cuts for large solid wood tops that have uneven edges from joining wood together.- 1

kinda curious why the Fuel is similarly priced to the Flexvolt. Its got only a 10 inch blade, single battery, and no option for corded. Would think it should be a couple hundred dollars lower. The bevel lock for the Fuel is pretty cool.

isn't there a law that doesn't allow monopolies anymore or something similar? Sawstop may claim that other tool companies are the ones putting people in harm because they wont use sawstops system but I think its sawstop themselves causing more harm than the other tool companies. I say this because sawstop wants tool companies to have finger sensing brakes but wont allow them to make their own designs.

Flexvolt at Ace?
in Dewalt

Seen my first Flexvolt in the wild. It was the recip 1 battery kit, still in the box though. I seen it at Big G, Ace Hardware. I was unaware that Ace was gonna sell Flexvolt.
