  1. Nothing scary about the tape I am just an idiot. I bought the 300' tape, went home, started playing with it inside, pulled out over 100', and then when reeling it in it jammed up. After playing around trying to fix it for an hour I gave up. I literally broke it the first time I used it. After that it was decided I wasn't allowed to buy that kind of tape again.

Phew... I thought you were gonna have some horror story about the tape whipping back and hitting you in the eye or something!

  2. My doctor, Dr. Sausage Fingers the IV just says.....geesh....sorry Chris

My uncle told me after his first PE, that the dr. Told him "well Dave that wasn't so bad now was it". Uncle Daves reply was " well doc, you could have at least got me drunk first!"

  3. Every time I look on KC Tool I think about getting that magnetizer/demagnetizer and never order it because I don't think I would use it.

I really want that Wera driver but I don't "need" it and keep procrastinating on buying it.

The Milwaukee 100' tape looked nice in Home Depot yesterday but I can't use those kind after an incident with a 300' Kobalt tape a few years ago.

I plan on keeping the mag/demag in my service bag. I may not use it much either, but it was inexpensive enough, and there have been times when I could have used one!

The driver I'm actually thinking of keeping on my pants belt beside my phone for a week. I'm always looking for ways to lighten my tool bag.

That sounds scary about the tape! I have a larger kobalt reel tape also, and wanted to try out this compact one. It's small enough that I could fit it inside my back pocket, but I'll most likely keep it in my work pants cargo pocket. (In the event that I need to use it of course)

  4. Well I got my deal of the day from earlier this week, plus a few extra goodies I added to accompany the driver on its journey [emoji6]. 28276558058604e7c66c30cfcaee9074.jpg

Also picked up a pocket magnetic Stabila on Amazon.
*KC tool sticker for scale. Sorry no banana on hand!

Had lunch with my Eaton Rep, and main electrical supply house manager last Thursday and had a great convo! And just got my ECCN anniversary t-shirt in as well!

  5. There are a quite a few that I have to stop watching because it's irritating with his approach on some of his videos.

Then there are some I'm hooked the whole way through and go on to watch the next one...

I totally get that. Now on the flip side, I can't stop watching Gordon Ramsey videos unless something happens and I HAVE to shut it off lol!

  6.

I've seen that before but I've gotta watch it again, he does have a nice idea instead of stuffing drawers...personally, I like my drawers but refuse to pile, but damn it takes up a lot of space. Maybe I need to do a mix of this and what I do.

Similar to why I like my Veto Pro Pac's! Vertical organization. Love Adam savage Tested videos.

  7. ….So all of that brings me to these. For me, I think they’re going to be perfect. They have mounting holes, so I can fasten them to the doors. The only potential issue is I don’t know how much jostling they can take – so the mounting may require some extra attention. Other than that, I like that when mounted, they can be folded during transport. It saves room and keeps everything secure. When you need to access them, pop the two clips, fold down the outer half and you have full access. The bins are fully sealed with lids, so the contents stays in the bin. The lids also solve the issue of potentially spilling the contents if you bring a bin with you on a job. Dividers are included which is great for when you have small parts that don’t require a full bin. The bins clip into the carrier and can also clip to your belt which is great for working on ladders, bucket trucks, lifts, etc. The bins can be rearranged and the carrier also comes with a shoulder strap in case you want to bring the entire thing with you. The construction overall seems really solid. I have yet to mount these, but I think they’re going to work pretty great.

    I got them off Amazon:

  8. I know it's frustrating for my tool dealer.  They're a smaller chain of stores but a certified dewalt dealer and repair shop.  At Christmas when I wanted a flexvolt grinder they weren't able to even order me one but I could go to 2 other big box stores in town and pick one up off the shelf.  My dealer does a good job of taking care of our companies tool needs and repairs but this kind of stuff leaves their hands tied.

That's how it is for our electrical supply house who is a Milwaukee dealer, they get more fliers than inventory! And have a hard time matching HD's pricing on the new stuff sometimes. Every Klein, Fluke, ideal tool costs me well enough below retail, but not Milwaukee. My friend who manages the store told me that he told his dad to buy m12 batteries on Amazon, instead of his store!

  9.

I really want the m18 vac but at $50, damn that's tempting. I wonder how powerful it is, I am constantly using my indoor vac or shop vac, this would be waaay more convenient.

The M12 vac is not completely horrible, but if you don't have to use it to clean up a light mess in someone's home it's good enough.
I should have waited till the m18 came out. I was hoping that I could avoid bringing my corded vac from the van just to clean a little dust. Still had to get the bigger vac for the sawdust, as it was a bit too heavy.

  10. Lego, K'nex, Tonka, transformers,GI Joe, power rangers the usual. The only "model building" I did if it even counts were Bandai Gundams. It was a model kit series based of a Japanese tv series that made it worldwide. Some of you may be familiar with it, but being a young buck I was introduced in the mid 90's. It was fun to build robot action figures that you could play with, though not excessively. Though I don't claim to be a mechanic, I think playing with building toys definitely put a mechanical inclination in me that my friends who didn't do the same just didn't have. I remember seeing my friend try and assemble his skateboard with just a pocket knife! There was also that toy set that my father gave me that came in a leather pouch, with a belt. It was stamped Klein. [emoji23]. I think he wanted me to have a decent set of tools regardless if I wanted to follow in his footsteps! Now outdoor fun was a whole different ballgame! Supersoakers, skateboards, bicycles, backyard kickball, street basketball! My basketball goal was in the back of the house, our driveway was narrow and went around back for parking. My friend who lived across the street would set his hoop up against the curb, and my next door neighbor would do the same, so we'd all play in the street!

No but seriously that's a good tip! Never really look for deals that deeply.
