  1. Gedore is really interesting. They prefer a more rugged (yet extremely high performance) look to their tools than some other german brands. They go with a more matte/satin finish a lot of the time. They don't build ugly tools by any stretch but they don't spend a lot of time making them fashionable (which is neither a good or a bad thing). Their focus is the application of the tool. In their catalog they talk about a preference for a matte finish over high gloss because of the potential for slippage with oily hands. I can appreciate that way of thinking even as a marketer/sales guy.

I wanted the Gedore wrenches so bad on yesterdays deal. Those things looked like works of art.

They really were. We don't usually do high dollar items on TOD's (margins can hurt if we sell more than a few), but this was such a cool set. Keep it in mind for the future. We only carry about 50,000 skus. We will get around to it someday again. ;)

Dang I already have these(thanks KC!!) just need a standard set to go with them...

The SAE set is $34.99. Both sets are on sale at a manufacturers discount until December 31, 2016. The SAE set comes with a pouch vs the metric with a clip. I prefer the clip myself, but some like the pouch. Potato...Potatoe  Don't forget the TIA code. ;)

That is a fantastic pair, these are better than the normal cobras because you don't have to push the button to adjust it closed. I don't think they have the quickset in 7" which is definitely something they should add.

Also a great price, that's only $3 more than the normal non-comfort grip at the cheapest retailer. 1 hour left, if you don't have 10" cobras or you use the pair you already have a lot, buy these.

Yeah the Quicksets are still fairly new. Im hoping knipex releases a 7" variety too. The only other size they offer is a 12" with vinyl grips.

Wiha's Q4 deals are ridiculous. They put 343 items on sale, their promo catalog is 28 freaking pages! Comparatively Gedore put about 12 items, Wera 5, Felo a few dozen bits, Knipex 5.  Im making the other brands sound stingy, but the case is Wiha put a ton of stuff on sale. 5-10 items is a typical sale per quarter. How about that for some insider info?

Honestly, neither of those have a con. Both are extremely comparable, both are round shape and durable. The only thing of note is the labeling on the Felo's has started rubbing off but I haven't had the Wiha set for long, I think you guys shipped that to me a couple months ago. Felo's also get more use because they're in my tool bag.

Yeah all paint will probably rub off eventually (with use). Im not to hung up on that. Thanks for the review. Any reason the Felo's are in the tool bag over the wiha's? Better canvas bag, maybe?

Sadly I already have the Wiha slotted set :( I like the Weras a lot(I have a micro nut driver) comfy and doesn't roll off your table. Wouldn't be bad to buy these then pick up the phillips set, then you can buy a Wiha-style roll from eBay for a few bucks and you have a GREAT set of micro screwdrivers. The canvas wrap will hold the extra slotted, just alternate the slotted top-up then top-down like this:

This is the tool roll I have for my Felos, the velcro latch and color are the only differences from the Wiha roll. This is an old pic, I've added the Wera 5mm nut driver(for VGA screws) in the far right slot. Great setup for my tool bag!

How about a pro/con review of the difference?  I've never used the Felo's myself.  The Wiha's are classic. Some pretty big reverse logistic centers in Dallas have been stocking the Wera's.

I have a little bit of pull here. ;)  I love this set.  Precision drivers are something I can never get enough of.  They are just so freaking handy. I use mine as much at the house for silly stuff as much as at the shop.
