It isn't a issue for me. Was more just curious. Thanks for confirming it for me.

The tip still looks great. The striking cap though is heavily marked and scratched. Not sure if that is normal or not.
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Yeah... Striking caps are funny things. They do tend to show wear when used as intended, which is not always so aesthetically pleasing. You could try using a rubber mallet or a hammer with softer steel than the striking cap. However then the hammer would get dinged up. Catch 22... sorry man.

If I worked on more electronics I'd pick up that witte set.
@kc_tool is witte's line not as extensive here in the states? Do they offer more in Europe?
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Our distributor of Witte is limited in what they carry...thus we are limited in what we carry. Yeah they have many different lines in Europe. Im always trying to bridge that little Atlantic divide. I need an office in Germany badly.

Well made some progress the last two days. My dumpster finally arrived today. Able to get the room completely gutted. I got the new shower faucet installed. Still need to put in the supports though. With the master bath next to this room I was able to switch out the drain for a new push lock one. The master tub wouldn't hold water anymore. Wife works tomorrow so I'll be home with the kids. Hopefully I can get a friend over to get the drywall in. Had to put in a pick of my new striking cap gedore to assist in knocking the old drain tub out.@KC_Tool

not to interrupt, but aint facom french?
Yeah I think they are. Weird who owns who though. SK Tools was aquired by Facom then SK went bankrupt or something...Facom was bought by SBD etc... Don't really know all the back story. Quite an incestuous industry we love, no? A Shakespearean tragedy or a primetime Vampire drama has nothing on Fortune 500 tool companies.

What if I find a really good French tool brand? They were German once, haha. Damn the Swiss and their neutrality, I can't even make a good argument for you to carry them, haha.
If you found a French tool brand...I would be shocked...then I would consider it. Where would we be as a civilization without Swiss chocolate? I would be dead long ago... for it is the one thing that can assuage my wife's wrath.

I used to call them Allen wrenches but at some point I started calling them hex keys. For the record, I'm not fond of Allen's hex keys. Actually, I like Tekton's hex keys better than any USA keys I've used, T-handles from Eklind are nicer...PB Swiss really has some nice hex keys.
Speaking of PB Swiss, @KC_Tool have you guys considered carrying them? There's not really much distribution in the US yet they have a pretty good following.
PB Swiss is a great brand. I have quite a few of their tools myself. However, our business focus is on German brand (i.e. engineering... ideally German manufactured too) hand tools. If we ever branch out from the German brands, PB Swiss would be one of the first I would approach to distribute here State side. It isn't a huge leap from German to Swiss brands really.
Thanks for the heads up @BMack37. Im always looking for new up and coming brands. Love the suggestions. Keep them coming!

The always elusive Wiha Tool of the Day! Semi-off topic question. What do you usually call these? I grew up with them being allen wrenches. Ive heard l-keys, allen keys, allen wrenches, torx keys (for the torx design). I think the hex design makes them "allen" key/wrenches....but I don't really know. Anyone want to chime in?

I figured you for more of an Oktoberfest type of guy.
I live and breathe Oktoberfest. I can't get enough. Tools, beer, bratwurst, sauerkraut, punctuality, directness, weird sense of humor, metal bands...

Man, that sticker is awesome!
Im waiting on my boy to reply with some news regarding the sticker supply. Throwing KC Tool some love on Facebook or Instagram (or buying tons and tons of Wera Tools) will likely get my Sales Rep's attention.

Big thanks to Ryan,@KC_Tool for the delivery today. A good lot of stickers and a hand written card.
I was writing the card thinking, "Please God...don't let me write like a 3rd grader...as I usually do."

The other forum code did work on the sale, clearance and deal of the day
I love where your head is at, but we have to eat too. It is a permanent code for TIA though. This isn't the end of the deals/promo/swag/etc... I'm excited to see where we can take this.

Im Ryan. I love tools, specifically German engineered hand tools. My obsession has grown into my livelihood. I haven't been on the forum long, but the camaraderie amongst the members is easy to see. That is amazing. Seems like working with your hands (as a diy'er, hobby or career) grows character or something. Just good people...ya know? Thanks for having me.

RIP Thoughts and prayers with his family. I've messed around with generators without insulated tools many times. Dang, thanks for the reality check.

I have to axe you a question, how many different types of axes do you stock?
I live in FL so there's little need for a good axe. Most of the cutting I do of trees is with a recip saw.
WOOD you CUT it out! Im dying up here...
Nah, we don't really carry all that many. It is a pretty niche crowd. Around 18-24 different types of axes, hatchets, or other wood cutting instruments.

From Germany's oldest axe forge...or so they tell me. If you note the description it says, "Indispensable for cultivation of new growths and removing of small plants". Weird, I thought Ox head (ochsenkopf) only made things that will cut off ox heads. #murder

LOL! Great question. I wish I could say it was through some mathematical formula or analytics to drive sales, but it is just a group of guys in kansas city sitting around a barbecue sauce stained lunch table talking about tools we carry that we like or are super useful or just look badass. I love our TOD meetings.
