Manuforti
Hey guys. New to the forum and hopefully you can give me some advice. The 18v batteries for my dc618 (UK) nailer are slowly dying. The problem is for the life of me I can't get compatible batteries to work on it. I've even tried the DeWalt adapter to use the new slide battery on it, which I borrowed from a work colleague, but still nothing. On both compatibles and adapter the nailer gives one pulse of power then the LEDs flash to indicate a flat battery then nothing. I can get genuine ones from my local stockist and online but they are still around the £70 mark. A lot of dough for old tech. In the end I may just have to suck it up and buy but thought someone out there may have a better idea. It seems that it's the only DeWalt tool that will only work on genuine batteries. Thanks guys Edited October 23, 2018 by Manuforti
Babysaw
It’s not your buddies batteries, it’s the ancient turd you’re trying to polish. Make an investment in tools you’ll be able to use for years to come.
Charlie
BS is right... The adapter won't work simply because your nailer is too old for the electronics. Either invest in a new one, or buy the compatible "genuine" batteries
Jronman
The guys at work said the adapter does not work with the nailers.

Jronman
@Babysaw They got the adapter for their stuff and said they tried it on our nailer at work. Claimed it didn't work. I would guess with modification the adapter might work.
Jimfish
Got an adapter for mine a month or so ago as both my dcn660s are in for repair and with minor adjustment to the gun the adapter worked fine.
