Milt
I have a Dewalt hammer drill D25600. The lever control to switch between hammer and hammer/drill broke. Part #578494-00. It's plastic. Dewalt discontinued this lever. Not available anymore. It's a pretty darn important feature of this drill. This is the only thing wrong with the drill. Any ideas on what other people are doing to fix this other than carry around a pair of vise grips? Thanks
wingless
Welcome to the forum. That is unfortunate. Why not carefully repair the damage using epoxy? My go-to product is West System epoxy. I also use their fillers to thicken and change the properties, as required.
RDC
I'd try 3D printing up a suitable replacement. It may not look identical or last as long, but at least you'll be able to replace it again and again as well as improve upon it along the way.
