DEWALT® Expands Upon Its Existing Line-up of 18 Volt Tools with the Launch of a New ½-Inch High-Torque NiCd Impact Wrench with Hog Ring Anvil.

(Sep. 7, 2011) – Today, DEWALT announces the addition of a new 18 volt XRP™ High-Torque NiCd Impact Wrench with Hog Ring Anvil (DW059HK-2) to its current portfolio of cordless power tools. The DW059HK-2 is specifically designed to withstand high-torque applications commonly performed by professionals including remodelers, automotive users, mechanical contractors, plumbers and maintenance professionals. The product is also available as a bare unit (DW059HB) that is sold without a battery and charger.

The new 18 volt impact wrench features a motor that delivers 300 ft./lbs. of maximum torque, 2,600 impacts per minute (IMP) and 1,650 revolutions per minute (RPM). This combination of power and speed offers professionals the performance they need to tackle a wide range of heavy-duty fastening operations.

The impact mechanism on the product directs torque to the fastener without kickback, while the addition of the hog ring anvil allows for easy socket change. For durability, the DW059HK-2 is equipped with a magnesium gear case and all metal transmission. The DW059HK-2 also offers a rubber over mold handle grip that provides comfort and control, while a preferred forward/reverse rocker switch enhances ease of use.

The new 18 volt impact wrench is currently available anywhere DEWALT products are sold. The kit (DW059HK-2), which includes a one-hour charger, two 18 volt XRP NiCd batteries and a kit box, is expected to retail for approximately $299.00. The bare version of the tool, which is sold without a battery, is expected to retail for approximately $159.00.
