Nalu Rash
nice work! dumb question, is there a reason why the pipes are blue? im just curious
DR99
I though it might be some kind chemical resistant PVC or something. You use some pretty nasty stuff in a college lab. That's one thing about being a plumber no one really gets to see your work.
PlumbBob1345
The brand of pipe is Orion and yes it is acid resistant. Very easy to use compared to the old school method of glass pipe
DR99
The scary thing is HydroFlouric acid will eat through glass, but plastic is perfectly fine to store it in. I'm sure that is kind of a specialized part of plumbing though. I can't imagine many plumbers work in a a science lab.
PlumbBob1345
Honestly everything is the same as far as how the fixtures are hooked up the only variables that change are type of pipe you use and all of the waste from the lab goes through a neutralizing tank which is basically a tank full of lime chips to bring the ph level down then it all goes to the main sewer. Another thing is when a science lab is being built the plumber has the most work out of all the mechanical contractors. You wouldn't believe the amount of piping that go into them
