optimistspencer
I've been thinking about building a light duty radial arm saw with a dewalt circ saw, cuz once you take the guard off you can get an 8.5 inch blade on. First of all, have any of you tried this? Second of all, do you think it's practical to design? I'd be using it for cutting plywood shelves longer than 20", which is the max my sliding miter can handle.Sent from my One M8 using Tapatalk
Nordraw
Haven't heard of anybody trying that. What is your design? How would you do it?
comp56
radial arm saw's were not best design to start with, not sure I would want to make one.
jeffmcmillan
Why not use a table saw? I'll let others go into all the reasons miter saws have replaced radial arm saws.
DR99
lots of people lost digits from the sears radial arm saws. i think you can get 125 bucks for each motor you send in.
hathatyl
Theyre less than 200$ for the sears ones on ebay, so it would only b worth it if you spend less than that in parts
WeldfabNeil
I would just look at craigslist. You a lot of craftsman 10" radial arm saws often. I had a dewalt radial arm saw with a 14"' blade. The thing was massive but worked well.
ChrisK
Yeah I'm with these guys. I've got a Craftsman 10" and I actually got a recall on it a couple of years back. They sent ,e an entire new blad guard with anti kick back etc. pretty cool stuff but I don't use it currently.
optimistspencer
Note taken. I honestly love radial arm saws, so I'll probably just look on craigslist, recall or not Sent from my One M8 using Tapatalk
