dg1127 Posted December 15, 2015 Report Share Posted December 15, 2015 Hey guys we have a Hilti TE76 that needs close to $700 in repairs. A new Hilti TE70 ( new model ) would cost about $1700 new. I figure for 700 I could get a good Bosch. I know that Hilti is a great tool but money is tight at work. Can anyone recommend a good Bosch combo model. How many years have you had it? How much abuse did it take?Do you think a Bosch that's 1/3 the price will be the same?Don't get me wrong, Bosch makes good stuff, but it isn't really apples to apples so to speak. Bosch, Dewalt, Makita, and Milwaukee all make some good rotary hammers of that size. Also I thought Hilti limited the repair costs to 30% of the original value which is probably quite a bit less than a comparable hammer from another brand. Unfortunatly its near impossible to test durability in between tools but i think we can al agree a hilti would win a durability comparison. Not for performance.I am an electrician, I drill and core concrete. I have used Makita, Bosch and Hilti. We actually own all 3 brands. I can say, with experience and authority, that the Hilti is the best. Let me be clear, it isn't the best "everything". It is however, the best performing, overall. I wouldn't use the Bosch to core as it stalls and is slow. It chips better than the Hilti, but only marginally. I actually prefer the Makita ergonomics too! The Bosch was on sale, we bought it, it's fine. tomdog22 Posted December 17, 2015 Report Share Posted December 17, 2015 used Hilti, and Bosch hammers, both are best in category. but there's no need to spend the extra cash on hilti.
