KnarlyCarl
Yes. The total length of bolt that can fit inside is close to 1-1/4" on the 1/2" driver Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

KnarlyCarl
Klein's nut drivers have full length hollow shaft (3") except for the smallest one

Some milwaukee ones are entirely hollow so you can run it entirely up threaded rod. They're pricey though.

BMack37
Wow, yeah that's definitely better than the Craftsman. Thanks for the post and pics! I'll try to get pics of the Craftsman, they're at work and hopefully I'll be able to return to work next week.
rrich1
Was in town today. Crescent nut drivers and tool shop from Menard's are also hollow shafts to give you more options. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
JimboS1ice
I've never noticed if my craftsman set is hollow shaft never really was an issue that I would have paid attention to Jimbo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Conductor562
While I appreciate their function and heritage, I can honestly say nut drivers are a tool I never use. I understand why some people do, but the do nothing for me personally.

I understand why some people do, but the do nothing for me personally. I had the same thought at first for the longest time, but decided to get a pair, as admittedly I had bummed a driver here and there from co-workers. The very next day, I needed to tighten a worm drive clamp underwater, and I wasn't about to attempt that with either a ratchet, and most certainly not my impact driver. BMack37
Yup, very situational tools...and if you find yourself in that situation, you'll be happy you have them. This is my aversion to paying a fair bit to replace my shallow Craftsman nut drivers, because they don't get used a lot.
