  1. The funny this is they are doing this big construction project at the Sears by me.  Part of me is whats the point. Pennys has been struggling but they are not nearly as bad of as Sears. I think 2017 might be sears last holiday season.

  2. We had the Builders Square Home quarters around here for a minute. Actually a former Home Quarters is a Costco now. We also had Forest City re named Handy Andy at one point also. The one thing that blows my mind is Home Depot ran 24 hour stores for a minute and I remember when all the power tools were in a tool corral at the store.

I'd seriously consider Ryobi, the amount of tools and OPE rival many higher tier brands.  Just be mindful of which model you buy, their basic drill is, well, quite basic, check out the brushless model. Look at the 3 speed impact instead of the El cheapo one.

I use DeWalt and Ryobi tools to make money for my family.... I guess I'm a professional and if I'm using Ryobi, then that means it's pro grade.

I'm sure Ryobi tools have fed a lot of families over the years.

  4. Home Depot used to sell used returned tools. They stopped that practice a few years ago and it all just either gets rtv'ed or tossed. Honestly the open box used stuff wasn't worth what they were asking. Some of the stuff look well used and they wanted like 75 80% of retail. Not worth it compared to normal clearance deals HD offers usually.

Miter saw- I'd look at the Hitachi 12" compact slider. Cheaper, nearly as compact, more accurate, laser built in. I had the Hitachi (previous model and now the 12" Bosch) I didn't gain anything by going Bosch.
Router- go for it they are great
Worm drive-im sure it's a great saw, no experience.
Job site saw- do you need a job site saw or can you go bigger and more stationary? It's a good saw.
Jigsaw- they are awesome. Corded or cordless? My cordless is fantastic and a brushed mod at that.
Sanders- great Sanders you won't be disappointed.

My .02 is the same as always.
Go Ridgid. It's rebranded AEG and often it is identical to some of the Milwaukee tools. Milwaukee has quite a few AEG tools in their line up that are rebadged/recoloured etc.
The warranty is more than you will ever need as a homeowner, provided you register.

The LSA on the batteries is nice. The Ridgid line is bigger now, but tools they add seem to have short runs sometimes if they are not popular. Also I wouldn't expect any yard tools added to Ridgid if that is something that you might want as a home owner.
