  1. yeah I know, I've just never though to myself "this 1500W side-winder doesn't have enough power" It's probably because I'm quite young, and the last 8-odd years that I've used power tools (apart from the odd drill), have been spoiled by more and more powerful tools.
  2. why does this make you want to adopt FV, but the regular 7.25", left-handed FV saw didn't?
  3. Looks like a beast. I've personally never used a rear-handle or wormguard saw. I can't really see the appeal to be honest...
  4. That's why I wanted to clarify. Most people say that drivers have a 'bit holder' rather than a chuck. SDS is probably called a chuck by a lot of people. Give it another 12-24 hours. If no one gets the answer, ask another
  5. but you did say 'chuck', which naturally excludes rotary hammers and drivers etc.
  6. I also think 0. Can't remember ever seeing one.
  7. yep. I know the Dewalt DCD996 does.
  8. Cr8ondt is correct. Milwaukee by a coountry mile. You're up.
  9. Haha, true it was meant to be cordless. What brand first brought out a brushless grinder?
  10. I have such a problem that I need to start reviewing them so I didn't have to pay anymore...
  11. I think there's going to be some controversy on this one! From memory Metabo and FEIN both lay a claim on it, possibly Bosch too? I'm going with FEIN for the first hand-held electric drill.
  12. yes! dmz, where you at?
  13. This is a great unit. Only thing I'd improve is compatibility for left-handers and keep working on the drop protection.
  14. I haven't really compared side to side so it's hard to say. But my gut feel is that it's vibration is going to be class-leading or there abouts.
  15. so close. i should know that, I just reviewed the bosch! But i had in my head that the it had the same as the FUEL.
  16. Makita (1st), Milwaukee and Metabo?
  17. Totally agree! But we have a winner, it is the Hitachi at 136Nm, conspicuously just a little above the 135Nm of the FUEL which was already out D W, the floor is yours.
  18. Well that 1300 in-lbs would be the highest claim when it comes out, but it isn't the current top. I'm VERY surprised no one has guess the Milwaukee FUEL, because if you did, you'd be SO SO very close (in torque claim). But still incorrect.
  19. You're right. Why is that do you think? Both guesses so far incorrect (though I'm not sure exactly what Metabo you're referring to, I think Metabo peak at 1062 in-lbs / 120 Nm also).
  20. Done! http://forum.toolsinaction.com/index.php?/topic/13078-cordless-tool-trivia/
  21. Hey folks, Just a bit of fun. The person who first answers the question correctly gets to ask the next question. Obviously it doesn't work if people google the answers. Questions could be about which brand has a certain tool, what the spec of a given tool is, when it was released etc etc. Please bold and underline the formal questions so they stand out from the guesses and OT discussion. Please restrict your questions to battery tools, and to brands that are available around most of the world to regular people, so that non-US people like myself can get it on the fun. Bosch, Dewalt, Festool, Makita, Metabo, Milwaukee, Hilti, Hitachi, Panasonic etc. Also, please be accomodating of model number differences etc. First question: Which brand of 18V hammer drill claims the highest maximum torque, and what value?
  22. haha I know! I was just wanting to start some sort of cordless tool trivia challenge
  23. Indeed! But is that a challenge.....? . . . . . Accepted.
  24. Well as a tool reviewer I ought to have a better feel for their range than the average tradie
