  1. Oh okay that makes sense. It'd be nice if PC would be more open about that as opposed to putting a BT symbol on the box! Maybe explain some more.
  2. Oh and the Blsch takes a Dado too but I hate to admit it but the Blsch was actually a better saw all about over the Bosch, the fence had a lot less to be desired.
  3. I would say that the fence on the DW745 was dead nuts on. Also it is rack and pinion but you can literally slide it without turning the knob. That knob is great for fine tuning the final location for the fence. But....that Metabo looks pretty awesome. Oh, one more thing.....the DW745 CANNOT accept a dado stack. I had to double up blades as the arbor was too short for a full stack. The 7480 can accept the dado stack, the trade off for the 745 was slower motor and no dado.
  4. Part of the problem here as opposed to Europe is all of the tools are numbered differently @Craigh9916 But suffice to say my DW745 was the basic table saw from Dewalt. They go up from there!
  5. Well.....the DW745 which is the smaller version of the 7480 cranks out 15amps at 120v and a speed of 3850 rpm's. The equivalent wattage would be 1800 watts. Their is another model that is putting out almost a thousand more rpm but I believe the wattage if I converted it correctly is the same (amps x voltage = watts) BUT I WOULDNT WIRE A HOUSE WITH MY ELECTRICAL KNOWLEDGE!!!!!! You know, unless you want a smoldering pile of ashes
  6. Surprisingly Metabo still isn't as common in the USA. I heard Lowes was starting to carry the tool line but alas, haven't seen it at my local store and on line Lowes had a limited amount of Metabo tools. Like Jimbo said though, Metabo is quality. I think Mike has the Dewalt set up and I had the basic version of that saw and LOVED it. I sold it to make room for my new Sawstop (I don't need a portable saw as I have a Woodshop indoors)
  7. No doubt Jason. Ryobis lineup of tools and areas like landscaping make Ryobi and even B&D the better bargain. Ryobi has one of the largest families of tools available like Makita and clearly I am a fan of Airstrike. I guess the question I have is this? Is Dewalt going to share Bluetooth with Porter Cable and if so, what are they going to share? Also, is this advertisement a misnomer and is PC advertising something with the term "LINKED" that is nothing other than sharing the same battery platform like Ryobi does? @james mims yeah Jim that why I pointed out the difference in tools in the kit. I hate it when companies offer (Dewalt does this in some cases) a lower end tool in the case. I know it's to save money but it sucks if you want a full featured tool and end buying a kit that uses different materials and less powerful motor.
  8. As far as recommendations @DR99 I ain't recommending these over any others, or recommending them at all. I just saw that Bluetooth on the new display and haven't been to Lowes in a while. Seemed like a pretty interesting topic. Bluetooth in Porter Cable???? I haven't seen that before! I did have the PC impact gun and it is a really nice gun. My Dad has it now and I bought him another battery, the jigsaw and the recip and he uses them at his job (self employed carpenter down in Florida) but his mainstay tools are mostly Ryobi. I only have the Airstrike nailer from Ryobi and you'd be hard pressed to get me to say anything bad about Ryobi. I don't have any more Ryobis but I like the new I have.

    Home Depot

Shame on you @khariV "technically don't need" is the anti venom to this site!!!!!
  10. And while I'm responding to my own post it appears if you look at the specs of the new "linked system" combo kit the kit includes a dumbed down drill and a dumbed down circular saw with a regular recip and light plus the batteries. So it'd appear if your going to invest in the line, maybe buy the tools individually so you can get "da juice baby"! http://www.portercable.com/20Volt
  11. So apparently this is their new "linked system" popping up in Lowes. I have to admit, PC 20v is a great lineup and it looks that they may be expanding it for the DIY/ Homeowner and the cost conscious contractors out there. Hard to compete with Ryobi but looks like PC may be trying a little bit harder plus with the post that Stuart put up about the new PC tool box good for them! I have to admit, I saw the BT on the box and I think it was the radio is BT compatible. Kind of sad....:( Thought they may be incorporating the Dewalt technology which hopefully will continue to expand but alas....me thinks me wrong. http://portercablemediakit.com/pneumatics/porter-cable-expands-20-volt-max-linked-system-with-six-new-cordless-tools/ http://toolguyd.com/porter-cable-ball-bearing-tool-storage-combo/
  12. Ah Chris.... I ain't gonna buy one!!!! Just looked like an interesting find with BT from PC!
  13. Wow. That's pretty slick....even if it's Red seriously though, that's a sweet looking machine to say the least. And most of the day? Really impressive. Is it single or double bevel?

    Makita BO6040

Now that sucks! I've got the RS125 and the RO90 plus the Bosch ROS65. The picture looks like the interface is no in contact with the machine itself now I know what your talking about. That machine is supposed to be a great sander, too bad. I have never heard of air going through that area so I am guessing you might have gotten a bum machine! Not much help but my Bosch is truly a wonderful machine and has found a home amongst it's blue and grey neighbors so maybe for you.....;)

    Makita BO6040

Welcome to the forum Marco! I have not used the Makita but have several sanders in my shop. All of the interface pads have a space for the pad to oscillate and move about so I don't think that is the problem. I run dust collection on all of my sanders but I use a designated DC unit with them. You might want to try a wet sand with the poly or a different grit paper. Additionally depending on the paper you use, that may actually be the problem. What brand of paper do you use and what grit are you using? Also, at what speed are you using the machine at? From what I understand, the Makita is a really good machine with variable speed.
  16. Welcome to the forum Jose!
  17. I'm with Mondo, the glue gun is going to be awesome!
  18. In all honesty guys, I gave my Autosense to another member in need but it was a really good (I'm being very serious here!) drill perfect for cabinetry. I kind of miss the guy. Most comfortable drill I've used plus the batteries work with the lawn and garden stuff. I know, I know, I'm a Festool, Bosch, Dewalt kind of guy.....but that darn Autosense was pretty sweet.
  19. I have these.... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003HGH3W2/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1 made in Sheffield England, really decent general set, takes a good edge and keeps it. And really inexpensive.
  20. Mondo, if your not sporting a miter I wouldn't hesitate to get this saw. Upgrade the blade when you get it home and for about $270 you can have a really decent slider with a higher end crosscut blade for finish work. Or just stay stock for a while and at $199 you can't lose. Ryobi makes good tools dude and though I only have one it is an awesome tool that has worked for me for a couple of years without any issues.
  21. Well @mohawkdec they were made using genuine Festool flavored chocolate so I am thinking about $47.54 each.
  22. Getting closer....face frame and dowels in place
  23. Sweet. I'm actually looking at the same one at Woodcraft. Very highly recommended unit.
