  1. We're gonna be lazy here, no plans. I have a really strong urge to build something though, but haven't got a clue what to build. I think I'm just going to go into the garage and destroy some wood just so I can play with tools... Here's a bald eagle and American flag for patriotic value, and some fireworks because explosions and bright lights are about as American as you can get... [/url]
  2. I second, third, fourth, fifth, etc., the Gearwrench sets. I have the 75pc. set and it's without a doubt my number one favorite tool(s).
  3. We're doing a "Team Member of the Month" at work now, so we've been prepping two parking lot spaces for them. One of the guys has been painting the spots so we can stencil them with "Team Member of the Month" and we're gonna add our company emblem to them too. Yesterday I made a stencil for the O'Reilly "O" out of masonite. Nothing special, but it was fun making it, and I got to play with my jigsaw...
  4. Delivered today... MTech 001 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr
  5. Bored, looking through my Flickr photos, came across this shot of me on a shoot. 40 pounds heavier back then... Spicy Shoot 02 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr Shooting this... Chrysler 300 Spicy Edition 039 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr
  6. No assisted open. The button unlocks it to open, the liner lock unlocks it to close. A weird design, hard to get used to. Thinking about opening it up to see if I can modify it for a spring, but the screws won't budge...
  7. Not bought but gifted from my boss...
  8. I didn't think of that...one more reason to buy one...
  9. Well now, that takes care of that, doesn't it. We can't talk to you anymore, you're too far above us poorly peasants. It was nice knowing you, at least now I can tell people I knew you way back when... Nobody will believe it
  10. Boy would I have one hell of a time trying to convince the wife of that purchase. "Really honey, it's for making sure the pool temp is perfect...and just think of what else we can do with it!"... This is a test of the American Broadcast System. For the next 60 seconds the sound you will hear will be the sound a cast-iron frying pan makes against the human skull.
  11. I've been there. Used to be into helicopters back in the day (dear God that was 25 years ago...I'm so frickin' old...). Had a couple of Hirobo Shuttles (one is probably still hanging out in an enormous pine tree), a Bell Ranger "Airwolf", others I can't recall. The radios alone were un-Godly expensive. Wish I still had that Airwolf though, that thing was a beast but it was fun to fly. Didn't buy tools today but finally added the high-flow couplers to my air line. Had to pick up a coupler from Menard's because I had everything I needed but a female for the end of the air line. Funny but I think Legacy makes them all because the Legacy (Flexzilla) couplers fit the Menard's one perfectly. And...just in case anybody wants to know...you definitely do see an increase in air flow with the high-flow couplers. I kept thinking to myself that the small difference in the openings wouldn't be discernible...I was wrong. Air flows quite well now, and I'm impressed by how obvious it is.
  12. There are plenty of knife companies that make much better knives at way lower prices. If you want to spend useless cash on a knife buy a ZT at the least. Tool companies making knives is stupid. Shit, I can recommend tons of knife clones that are cheap as shit that will last 40 times more than a Hardline...
  13. I bought my angle grinder from a store like that in Wisconsin. We were staying at Great Wolf Lodge and across the way was a mall. We went to wander around and while the wife and kid were in the clothes store I was sitting waiting. Looked down the walk a bit and saw "Tools" and that was all she wrote. Texted the wife "When you come out of the store look to the right and you'll know where I am". The place was pretty cool, and if I had a lot of money with me I'd have bought a lot more. I think I paid around 29 bucks for the angle grinder. Had "Recon" burned into it but who cares, it's been spectacular so far.
  14. Where did you get those batteries for $12.50 each? Please spill the beans
  15. Thanks for the info. I've got the glue gun...it's an incredible purchase. I've used it way more than I thought I would.
  16. You have to let me know how you like the sprayer, been eyeballing it for a while now. Would be so so much better for spraying insecticide around the house, as well as other stuff. Lots of mixed reviews on it, mostly good but there's always questions...

    Job ?

Awww...our own little AVE in the making...next thing you know you'll be doing YouTube tear-downs and finding out what makes things chooch... Where's the place at, and what kind of perks (free tools) do you get?
  19. I don't need my wife's permission. It's not about permission, it's about sense and logic. I can't just go willy-nilly buying shit, I have bills to pay, food to buy, etc.. The wife keeps me from spending all of our money, simple as that. If it wasn't for her I'd be broke, surrounded by knives and tools. Of course I was married once before, so I know how the whole begging and pleading thing goes too...
  20. I've got my original "blue" tools, and those are tools that I used in an industrial maintenance setting for years. Never had any issues with Ryobi, never plan on having issues. I have more Ryobi in my garage than I think Ryobi themselves have, it's a great brand. I have my sights set on one of their mowers, but I have to kill my current mower first, which is proving to be a hard task to complete. Just keeps on plugging along...can't convince the wife to by a new mower until this one bites the dust.
  21. Love this knife, can't keep it out of my hands... Rad Cleaver Clone 009 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr Rad Cleaver Clone 001 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr
  22. I've been waiting for a witty, insightful, intelligent reply to come to me but none have popped up yet so, I'm gonna go with my original thoughts... What the F**K?!?!? I buy a 10" corded slider and now they release info on a cordless one?!?!? BASTARDS!!!! Ryobi needs to just stop the nonsense and send me one of these to test out. I have enough Ryobi stuff to open my own Ryobi store, they should just give up and kiss my butt already...send me one of these now or else!!! They should send me one to make up for the fact that I just bought a corded one, they could have released this when I was in the market for a miter saw. Dammit Ryobi!!
  23. I carry all kinds of knives, depends on the mood. These will be thrown into the rotation but the cleaver might not see too much action. It'll be good for routine slicing and cutting but there's no point on it, can't do pokey-stabby stuff without a point.
