  1. Not bought but got this at a Fastenal open house today... Milwaukee 16ft Tape by Edward Durbin, on Flickr
  2. Just bought a boring grease gun today, nothing special.
  3. I have the 18ga brad nailer and I love it. Works perfectly, never fails. I haven't heard anything bad about the Airstrike stuff yet, everything I read says they're good stuff. I know I love using mine.
  4. We sell those...they're decent for low-torque stuff, but chucked in a drill you're inviting disaster. They get returned a lot so I take the adapter out and throw the socket away. The adapters come in really handy, I keep one in all of my socket sets for when I want to put a socket on the impact or on a drill. Otherwise, the Gator Grip is a piece of shit in a chrome disguise...
  5. Cleaned and lubed the garage door rollers and shifted the door over. For some reason it's been riding all the way to the right, finally said "fuck it" and slid it back to somewhat center. Stained a plaque. Refilled the spray bottle of cleaner/degreaser. Took apart the grease gun to find the grease turned gummy, said "fuck it" again and put it back together. I'll deal with it another time. Reorganized the socket drawer a little bit. Cleaned/waxed the headlights on my car. Cleaned the dash and the inside of the doors. Vacuumed the car.
  6. I can make angled cuts with the level clamped to the wood, accuracy is probably not too perfect. The very few times I needed an angled cut from sheet goods though it worked out well enough to not notice any tiny miscue in degrees. I was checking out the Harbor Freight clamp, says it can do up to 22.5°. I'd imagine if you were crafty enough to make a couple of correctly-angled blocks to use with the clamp you could clamp at any angle. That would probably require more math than any of us want to do though...
  7. The only thing with the Kreg is whether or not I'd actually like it over buying something like a set of Emerson clamp guides. A lot of people say that the Kreg doesn't work well with their saws, or they just plain don't like it. I just watched a vid earlier about the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh clamp guide, for their price it'd be an easy thing to buy and try. I am a man of lazy means, if I can get away with something simple and cheap I do it...usually because cheap and simple always works best for me. Might convince the wife to take a trp with me to Harbor Freight and see what they have. I'm perfectly fine with using my level, but any chance I can swindle the wife into buying me tools I go for it.
  8. For sheet work I just clamp my 6' level to the wood. I know the distance from the side of the saw plate to the blade so when I measure I just compensate, clamp the level down, then run the saw along the side of the level. I want to get the Kreg Rip-Cut but haven't bothered to buy it yet. The level works great and that means I couldn't justify the purchase to myself. Sooner or later I'm sure I'll get it, but for now the level works fine. The cheapest alternative is to use angle iron or flat bar stock. Before buying the 6' level I used to use the angle steel from a bed frame. Anything straight that's at arms reach is always good enough for me.

    Well?

    The answer is 42
  10. You know if he went with the Ryobi 10" you guys couldn't have this much fun...
  11. It was effecting everything for me. It wouldn't work at all on the computer, until I tried Internet Explorer. It worked for a while, then stopped. Same with my phone...it worked fine but then stopped. I found that if I replaced the bookmarks I had with the following link "forum.professional-power-tool-guide.com/index.php"...everything started working perfectly. So far since the change I haven't had any issues, across all of my platforms. Without the "index.php" nothing would work. If you are on the main TIA page and click "Tool Forum" the link will not work. Hovering over the "Tool Forum" link will show that it does not have the "index.php" on it and it goes to the same it's-not-working pages. For example, here's the old link I had, which is the same as the link for the "Tool Forum" selection on the main site... Tool Forum If I click it the "This Community is Temporarily Unavailable!" page shows up. If I add the "index.php" to it then it works fine. There was another page it was going to, but I can't remember what that one said. Damn, I just got the biggest case of deja-vu ever...I feel like I've typed this same exact post before.
  12. Try following this link in whatever browser or device you're using...it's working perfectly for me so far...forum.professional-power-tool-guide.com/index.php
  13. Well, like I said changing the links worked, I'm able to get on with no issues so far. Whether or not it "fixes" the original issue I don't care, as long as I'm able to get onto the site.
  14. Changing the links is working so far. Probably when the switch was made the link changed a bit, it didn't originally have the "index.php" at the end. So far it's working so I'ma gonna stop bitching like a widdle-bitty baby girl...
  15. Switching all of my links seems to be working. Testing on the phone and it's working fine
  16. I may have found a workaround for now...I copied the "discover unread" link and used that to get to the site...so far it's working. If I click "Home" it doesn't load so maybe I'll just change the link until it clears up. Edit: Now it seems that the "http://forum.professional-power-tool-guide.com/index.php" link is working whereas the link I had saved wasn't. So...maybe it is just me...
  17. Still working in IE, works in Safari on the phone too for now. But, now that I said that I'm sure I jinxed myself... On the computer Chrome, Firefox, Torch, Epic, none work. IE worked for a bit yesterday but stopped, and is now working today..so far. On the phone Chrome doesn't work but Safari does. I don't know if it's a DNS thing or not, I cleared my DNS, cleared my browsing histories and all of that. Didn't do any good. If I have to use IE for the site then it's no big deal, I just despise IE with a passion. However, as long as I can calm my "I gotta check the site every 3 minutes" OCD then I'm okay
  18. It stopped working all over...Internet Explore worked until I said it worked, then it stopped. Now it's working again on IE, but still nowhere else. Every single site I go to works perfectly except this one, seems like it's the guys telling me to stop coming around... I'll miss you all
  19. Internet Explorer is working, which is what I'm on now, nothing else. Chrome, Torch, Firefox, Epic, etc., site won't load on anything. This is crazy. Won't work on the phone or tablet either. Can't be just me, can't be just my computer or browsers. Gotta be something with the site, IP config problem, server issue, something. It's a sad day, very sad day.
  20. Must be the computer, works on the phone and the tablet. Guess I gotta figure out what the hell is going on...
  21. Was watching a Periscope and asked about the issue, Dan said the site is working and just to refresh but it still won't work, no matter what browser. Gonna try restart and see what happens. Gonna check on my tablet too
  22. I can use my phone until the problem clears up but it's a lot easier on the 'puter...especially when I want to type something.
  23. The forum is working on my phone but not on the computer. Tried different browsers with no joy. Throws up a page saying "Sorry...and blah blah blah" about the site moving or the IP address changing or if you're the owner contact so-and-so... This is really biting me in my OCD...I can't check the site every ten minutes like normal, gonna have to see my psychiatrist about this
