  1. Always enjoyed this video... However, no matter what video I see and no matter how much I enjoy it, this will always be my favorite. Sorry, I'm a sucker for a good story...
  2. The Hammerhead screwdriver is actually pretty handy. I have one and use it often. The wire stripper feature is kinda lame but the NCT works good enough to use for electrical work.
  3. Who's Tom, and why do you hate him?? I've always been a die-hard Stanley fan, but use a Komelon at work and have one at home now too. Love them, and the one at work has been through more hell than I care to admit. Dropping it off the scissor lift, dropping it on the floor more times than I can count. Only thing wrong with it is that the rubber overmold is peeled of all over the thing. Still works perfectly. The one at home is fairly new so it's still got the new-tape smell, but the one at work has been beaten half to death and still plugs along. Don't care much for the blade standout but overall I like the Komelon tapes a lot. Still, I keep eyeballing the new Milwaukee tapes, something about them keeps calling me. Don't know what it is...
  4. I own a shitload of Ryobi stuff, my garage is filled with it. Been using the brand for years, and used it for years in industrial maintenance with zero issues. Can't say that about any other brand I've used, whether in the home or at work.
  5. I'm almost positive it's some jackass idiot who only got an account so he could win free stuff. Same with most of the "new guys"...they come in, post two or three times, usually with nonsense bullshit, then disappear. Sit in the wings until their name is called and scoop up the loot. And I still haven't heard of Ryobi, what is it, some kind of Chinese food or something??
  6. Dewalt drill bits suck, I break them all the time. As for the plaque...what exactly are you certified for?
  7. The OP is probably 1.) not real 2.) a jackass 3.) spam/scam/troll/etc. Take your pick. If he is real, then I'm sure the flashing Ryobi gif in my sig line would indicate that someone around here has heard of Ryobi, because why would someone have a Ryobi gif in their sig line if they've never heard of Ryobi??? Just me thinking out loud...
  8. I get it now. I was looking at the Home Depot website and saw a Ryobi battery-operated fan, maybe that's what the OP was talking about...a club for the Ryobi fan...
  9. I haven't seen anything around this site that would indicate anybody has the first clue about taking good photos. I know every time I try to take a photo it comes out horrible. I mean, really, cell phones suck for pics, how does anybody do it??? I know there was one guy here who was really goofy, talked all kinds of shit, but I think he got banned or something. Can't recall the name...Karl, Kris, Katherine...something like that
  10. I've never heard of Ryobi, had to Google it to find out it was Home Depot's house brand. Are they any good, anybody here use Ryobi stuff?
  11. He didn't invent it, it was a product that already existed and he just adapted it to his purpose. They've had grip sheets and grip trays for years for cell phones. I have one that came with my Zune, and that's about 15 years old or older. Plus his tool tray takes all the fun out of looking for a place to put a tool, only to have it fall off and roll under what you're working on. I can't tell you how much I enjoy getting down on all fours with a flashlight for a half-hour looking for that socket that just rolled under the truck, only to find it 10 minutes later 40 feet from where I'm working.
  12. I'm not sure about the top tool, but the bottom one is a pen. What do I win?
  13. Really nice work on the sheaths! April 08 001 by Edward Durbin, on Flickr
  14. Which, now that I think of it, the wall with the leopard photo looks different now. Guess I gotta update my photos...
  15. I have a knife collection, stored outside of the home, but the walls in my office are covered with stuff. Here's two of the walls...
  16. That set comes with the foam, I didn't make it myself. PowerTorque has quite a few socket sets that have foam like that. It's nice because it fits in the drawer and nothing rolls around
  17. The latest ratchets are PowerTorque, that came in a couple of sets I bought...
  18. Welcome to Tool-A-Holics Anonymous. We don't judge here, we support you, and join you, on your path to recovery from your tool addiction. Remember, it's not your fault, it is a disease that can strike anyone at any time. We are here to help. Please state your name, and what you hope to accomplish by joining our support group. We will begin by reciting our support group motto, and then afterward a reading of last weeks minutes. Then, we will go over the 12-step program that will help you on your journey. Soooo...what's the motto again??
  19. I've owned a Stanley for around 15 years or more that extends. Nice to use when you need a little extra leverage and don't want to stop to grab a breaker bar...
  20. I have no real preference, a ratchet is a ratchet. I own Stanley, PowerTorque, Gearwrench, Craftsman, and on and on and on...none of them are any more or less impressive than the next. I like the Gearwrench pass-thru flex-head ratchet, it's got a good feel and is nice to use. I also have a PowerTorque low-profile ratchet that I seem to grab for more than the other ratchets I have. Mainly because I like how it looks and feels, and not because it out-performs the others. I have a swivel-head at work that I like to use because, like Putnam said, you can use it like a screwdriver, which makes it really easy to spin stuff quick. I have two T-handle tools that I have at work that I love to use, one is the typical spinner T-handle, the other is a ratcheting T-handle. Both are great to use, and since getting them I reach for them more than any other ratchet. They make work a lot easier and faster for a lot of stuff. But, after saying all of that, I really don't have much of a preference, at least not brand-wise. If it feels good in the hand and doesn't break, I'm all good.
  21. I love a new flap disc in the morning...smells like...victory. Admit it, you guys put a new disc on the grinder and stand there for a few minutes, looking for anything in sight to grind the shit out of.
  22. Simple utility area, possibly gas. I've seen them before, not anything shady.
  23. I have an 8" Delta variable that I bought around 10 years ago, from Lowe's I believe, always works like a champ. Yours looks like it has better lock-down knobs, I swapped most of mine for better ones almost as soon as I bought it.
  24. I had a control PCB burn out on one of the motors, they sent out a new motor box no problem.
  25. You can easily tear down palettes by running a sawzall down between the ribs and the slats, cutting the nails as you go. After that you just knock the heads out and you're left with good wood to use for projects. I wouldn't build an entire shop out of palettes but most of my shelving, workbench, etc came from palettes and crates.
