  1. Being mobile can be quite the advantage on many job sites I am on. It looks like the X2 saw is going to be lighter, from the little info I can web gather, and to some of us a superior mobility tool. I'd like to do some framing and see how it does.
  2. Looks like this could solve my cordless circ-saw issue. Full size blade, now that's the ticket.
  3. I agree, stay away from the Makita cordless at this time. That will leave more for the rest of us. Love the Makita stuff. It's been field proven and the line is unbeatable with it's depth.
  4. I bet that the Festool connect is pretty informative. Hopefully Regopit gets to go and can give us an update.
  5. Good marketing by Dewalt. Makita has been producing tools here in the U.S. for 20 years. Milwaukee used to do quite a bit here, but TTi stopped that I would guess.
  6. And your evaluation may be correct in your area of the world, but it varies greatly by region. I see Makita on job sites daily and these are commercial jobs not residential. Innovative at one time, I see that every company has their strong points and weaknesses. I still see that Makita leads the way with many new ideas. The X2 system is brilliant and in my experience works well, for example.
  7. Bigger ah is not always better. Weight, charge time, etc. all come into play. Ask Dewalt and Milwaukee about 36v tools back in 2005.
  8. I think a 40% increase is very good for Milwaukee. I feel the 12V Dewalt is just too bulky. In comparison to the other companies in the 10.8v-12v, the Dewalt is much larger. The idea of the sub-compact tools, for me, is to be as small as possible. The Dewalt does have nice power and seems to be capable.
