  1. I understand your disappointment and frustration. Hopefully they can come up with a solution to get the light mounted. However, you can't rely on the light to do what it is supposed to in all situations. I have the DWS7085 mounted on my DW718. If my saw is set up outside then a lot of the times with the brightness or direct sunlight, I cannot see the shadow line of the blade on the material. In other words, I have to do it the old fashioned way and sight down the blade to get an accurate cut. If the saw happens to be indoors or in the shade then it works like a charm.

    Newbie question

You have some old stock. 200124 means made in 2001 in the 24th week. Your batteries are 5th week and 14th week.
  3. So I am here in Edmonton. No luck on Dewalt blades here either. I find it odd that the big box stores and specialty tool stores in 2 major Canadian cities (Calgary and Edmonton) do not stock the Dewalt multi-tools and replacement blades. I did see the Porter-Cable blades at Lowe's however. So the holes in the blades for the "teeth" are round for Porter-Cable and rectangular for the Dewalt. This is probably why GATORB made his claim. I for one will not buy a pack of Porter-Cable blades just to verify his claim. I guess I will have to procure them online somewhere.
  4. So I live in Kelowna, BC. Back in October I ordered my DW315K out of Vancouver. It is a tool that is very versatile and I have used it often. But I need blades! It was only just recently that a local place started stocking the DW315K but no replacement blades - Summit Tools. Rona, Home Hardware, Home Depot, and KMS Tools still no dice. Right now I am in Calgary to visit family and friends. I stopped by a couple Home Depots, Lowes, KMS Tools and none of them carry the tool and obviously not the blades. WTF? Lowes does carry the Porter Cable tool and blades though. Heading to Edmonton in a couple days for one week. I have a feeling I will be out of luck there too unless someone knows something I don't.
  5. Dremel has a few blades that have a similar shape to the Dewalt blades.
  6. Do you think they will release a version for the 18V system?
  7. I tried to post a pic but it won't let me. Something about the folder being full. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will forward you a picture.
  8. Would you be interested in a trade? I send you my slightly used DW056 front like the one in that picture and you send me your slightly used DW057 front. Let me know.
  9. Should I get one when it hits the store shelves? Or wait for a cordless version? Wonder how long I would have to wait though?
  10. Yahoo! Finally. It will be on my list. Maybe for Christmas?
  11. I am too invested in the 18V system to switch. The only other tool I would consider getting is an oscillating multi tool if/when it comes out. If I need batteries I'll go to Home Depot and get the 2 pack for $99.
  12. So I ended up buying a D24000S Wednesday after work. I was actually contemplating on buying the new Bosch tile saw with the smooth as silk cutting cart and slide out water tray but in the end it was yellow and black as it was $100 cheaper and has been around longer. I have a job coming up in Feb with the customer wanting 12x24 tiles installed. I estimated about 7 days of tiling so instead of renting for 7 days and end up with nothing I'd buy one outright. I had a MK Diamond 370 EXP but that doesn't have 24 inch rip capacity. I ended up selling that today for $300.00. First thing I noticed when loading the box into my van was the box top was retaped. It was obvious it was opened previously. Second thing I noticed was on the long side of the box a 4" round piece of yellow cardboard was missing showing the corrugations between the outside and inside layers of the cardboard. Weird. So I got home and unboxed my new toy and noticed a white sticker on the short side of the box saying "DW130V included in box". I already have one of these mud mixers so my first thought was to sell it and make some money back. I unboxed everything making sure all components were there but sadly there was no DW130V. So I figured there was a promotion in the past that included a free mud mixer. When the promotion expired they opened up the box and removed the mud mixer and retaped up the box. The missing round piece of cardboard was probably a promotion sticker that they cut away. They simply forgot to remove the other white sticker. Oh well. So I assembled the beast. I attached the cutting cart to the rails and noticed it wasn't sliding very easily. WTF? I removed the cutting cart and noticed the rear roller assembly was missing a bearing. The guy on the assembly line tightened the axle nut without the bearing in place so that it was tight up against the roller wheel essentially "freezing" the roller assembly. I was a little miffed. This saw was probably the last one built on a Friday afternoon. I brought the entire cutting cart and receipt back to the store next morning and they exchanged that component on the spot. That evening I spent some one-on-one time with my new fully functioning tile saw.
  13. Do NOT replace the 15A breaker with something higher. 15A house circuits use 14 gauge wire which is thinner than 20A house circuits that use 12 gauge wire. You are risking a fire by replacing a 15A breaker with a 20A one.
  14. That's the whole point of using a dimpler bit. You can go full blast and the screw won't go past the paper. Occasionally in the corners you'll have to switch bits to a normal phillips where you'll use variable speed.
  15. Get a drywall dimpler bit for only a few bucks and you can use your impact for hanging drywall.
  16. If they made one I would buy one in a heartbeat. If it came in the 18V platform that would be the cherry on top.
  17. There is a difference between the recips. 380 has a 4 position blade and adjustable shoe while the 381 has a 2 position blade and fixed shoe. There is also a difference between the circs. 391 has the aluminum shoe while the 393 has a stamped steel shoe.
  18. Might be something as simple as taking some needle nose pliers and squeezing the battery contact terminals together in the tool.
  19. This happens to my DC988 sometimes. Also the speed selector sometimes doesn't change easily. I pulse the trigger and change from forward to reverse and back a few times and then try. Usually changes after a few tries. I'm wondering if there is something that is not lining up properly in the gearbox.
  20. Thanks for the info Russ. I ended up keeping the two DW056's as they are and bought a DW059. With three impacts I have far less frequent bit changes on the jobsite.
  21. I like it. I'm wondering if it can collapse and be stored with a DW718 still attached to it? Would it topple over?
  22. So why is this? It's not on www.dewalt.com.
  23. This is sick. I am in awe. Looks great.
