I've been wanting to try GearWrench ratchets for awhile now and found a great deal on this one thanks BMack37. When I received the GearWrench it felt great in my hands and had some decent weight to it. It's has a single paw mechanism which is smooth but a bit on the noisy side for me. Compared to the Snap-On is a dual paw just glides and very quite mechanism. The chrome finish on the GearWrench is nice but around the selector mechanism and GearWrench logo needed a little more attention. Snap-On was nearly flawless but could have been better on the stamped Snap-On logo. But these are purely cosmetic net picking on my part. As for  serviceability and parts Snap-Ons are a tool truck or phone call away, but the Snap-On has a few more moving parts that might be tricky to replace. The GearWrench is very simple due to the single paw mechanism, but not sure how easily warranty replacement or parts are to get. But I'm very impressed with the GearWrench 80 mechanism for the money. If you want the Rolls-Royce of ratchets Snap-on is the one to get. Made in USA and all customer service centers in USA with no questions asked replacements, you get what you pay for. That's my two cents. #TIACREW

  3. this took some convincing of me to the home owner to let me design and build this thing.i made a deal to let me run with it and if she didnt like it she didnt owe me anything. its in her oldest sons room, which has an adirondack theme. one wall we did has split stone from floor to ceiling, in the middle is a handpainted mural of adirondacks mountains framed out in the same 5/4 red birch has the window seat. whole window seat was made out of 5/4 red birch. slate/rock side seats were pulled out of nearby creek, cut to fit.

  4. all my electrical hand tools are klein, made in america for electricians, all my klein screwdrivers are the insulated type, to help protect me and not causing shorts if you should happen to slip. as far as grapping the screw head, i never found anything better than my snap-on set, i dont use these on electrical work though, i dont know what the handles are rated at.

  5. couple of items came today. im hoping to compare the dewalt to my brothers bosch 360 which i feel is the king, at the moment, im going to use my ipod which has nothing but full cd quality tracks on it, no mp3 crap, being the old hippie i am i like my music clear and loud. the other item is high on my list for work items, and its a good pair of work pants. every since carhartt decided to leave us, i started to check out european style clothing, ive had mascot brand for almost two years now, and havnt broke them yet, this is my first pair of blaklader. i got 3 pairs of carhartt  this past xmass, 2 are in the repair pile, one with a left blown out left knee, and the other the rear pocket decided to leave my ass and rip off

  7. i dont know, america has the reputation of price over everthing else, having been self-employed for the last 30 years, i see it all the time, and with the clients i work with, there is no reason for it, its all a game, i have had doctors tell me if i can drop my estimate 100.00 i got the job. if we have to pay sticker price for any thing then we want somthing free to go with it. metabo is better off staying out of the box stores, they would have to cheapen there line to much to compete with the cheapened tools we are buying now

  8. thanks for the info stainless, i have the casio comando now which is mil. spec, but is getting quite old, and being casio got out of the phone business, i was wondering what choices i had, didnt really want to go to the "pretty" smartphones

i thought so, got[ 2] 2amp batt, one 4amp batt, charger, case, of course tool, i dont use case, dont like those blow molded cases, too much wasted space, in that milwaukee case are: fuel hacksaw, fuel cir saw, fuel 1/2 inch hammer drill, fuel impact driver, fuel 1/4 inch scredriver, one lantern light, 2 stick lights, one flashlight, 2 3amp batt, 2 4amp batteries, and 4 two amp batteries, various 2 inch, handful drillbits, various hacksaw blades, whole thing weighs 31 lbs.less than two bowling balls lol  love the 2 amp batt for sticklight and flashlight, i can put in pocket when not in use, milwaukee did great by keeping part of batt in handle. new handle design gives my 20v dewalts a run for their money. that hourglass shape of the m12 is very comfortable to me,

  10. all those tools fit with with no problem, i dont have to remove one to get at another, with all those tools box weighs 31 lbs. i have a bunch of tough cases, but this box was well thought out. the pockets in the corner are awesome. everthing stays secure, dont need foam or old socks to keep things tight. one box=one system

I really don't pay attention to the dry venting, we have gas and it is ported directly straight outside the wall. vent is about 2 feet long with no curves. I'd be wondering if it was a gas dryer how much carbon monoxide is being pumped into the house which is just as bad a fire issues....

no harmful levels of carbon monoxide should be coming in house, if it is its improper install

  12. if you have any kind of ribbed dryer vent, its recommended you clean your dryer vent twice a year, the best is rigid piping, which is pretty much maintenance free, any housing inspector or code inforcer will say same. huge amount of fires are started every year because of dryer vents. if you can replace it with 4 inch rigid, do it
