  1. That's not the point I'm trying to get across. I've yet to get perfect alignment of two tracks linked together (yes with the proper alignment bars) and the more you move the tracks from one cut to another the more time you waste checking that they're still straight. I dread to imagine what it would be like having three tracks linked together.
  2. Just can't understand why Dewalt would make such a long rail that isn't suitable for cutting a standard 8ft / 2.440m sheet. All it needed was another 4" / 100mm and it would be perfect!! Especially as now they've introduced the Flexvolt plunge saw to the range.
  3. Flexvolt option is already available over here in the U.K. Doesn't really benefit me as I'll be using it in my workshop and it will be hooked up to dust extraction as well

  5. As title Interested in buying a plunge saw. would like people's views on the differences and any experience with Makita or Dewalt plunge saws and the rails ps. Before any asks, I haven't the budget for Festool. So please don't go off on one about how good they are

  7. Does the dts141 oil impact driver have a one touch drop in chuck or do you still have to pull forward the sleeve to insert a bit?
  8. They certainly do. There is definitely nothing wrong with the chuck! Except it's not a drop in type.. You can clearly see the sleeve itself is different. The EU type is knurled its whole length where as the USA / Japan versions are only knurled half way!
  9. As above title, I have both type 1 and type 2 batteries. Both are 4.0 so what's the difference?

It will be interesting if Dewalt has another impact driver waiting in the wings .... Looking at the body of the dcd791 and dcd796, the dcf887 body looks outdated already??
  11. Nice comparison..... But I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't another impact driver waiting in the wings... Look at the new body styling of the dcd791 drill/driver and dcd796 combi drill....? Very often the impact drivers share body styles of that of their drill cousins
  12. I remember looking at some Makita Impact drivers many years ago on a holiday in the states and they had drop in chucks, back then! Some exciting holidays I have!! Well it's only fair when I've been dragged round every clothes shop in Orlando...
  13. As above title.... Can't understand why the EU model of the DTD148 doesn't have a 'one touch drop in 1/4" chuck' The Japan version TD148 and the USA version XDR09 has drop in chuck. Totally misleading all the promotional pictures show the drop in chuck and yet the EU version I have to pull the sleeve forward to insert a bit!! Surely it must be more expensive to have a different production for the EU model??
  14. As above title, anyone know of an updated version of the dhr242 brushless sds drill
  15. I am also looking at the Makita brushless sds DHR242 / DHR243 as I use both Dewalt and Makita battery platforms. My mate has the Makita and its so close to my 36v DC234 in power you wouldn't know it's a 18v but in terms of weight you certainly notice the difference!-
  16. Dch253 still listed on their website and I've found no trouble hunting one down. So if they've been discontinued why are they so easily found and listed by dewalt??
  17. As above title Looking to update my dewalt 36v DC234 Is the brushless DCH273 / DCH274 worth the extra over the brushed DCH253 / DCH254? Does anyone know how the newer 18v / 20v drills compare to the older 36v version?
  18. From my experience, general rule of thumb is look at the UK prices and that's what you will probably pay in dollar.
  19. Would be interested to see what you can knock up on a 3d printer. Can't wait to see some pictures
  20. Oh, not this year then!! Should I keep my eyes open next year then.....
  21. Just being picky, all the pre-production models and those seen on reviews I have seen had a white/clear no-mar rubber noise piece. Just wondering why the went back to a black rubber noise piece, like the old version??
  22. Makita are normally obsessed with putting led lights on every cordless tool so what happened on their flagship sds cordless drill??
  23. Q3 brochure has been available on Dewalt iPhone app for the last 2 weeks in th UK, shows the Bluetooth batteries as well but no release dates!
