Just checked their website again and they've got it on there, also with a couple new rotary hammer drills that I'm really excited about as well. Looks like another great round of new tools coming from Milwaukee, only thing I didn't see that I was hoping to see was a revised brushless version of the m18 multi-tool but that I guess I'll have to wait even more.

At the moment I'm putting off projects around the house because I want the fuel version....not redoing the bathroom tile until it's out. And the girlfriend actually agreed! Not that she truly understands the difference but she agreed anyway.

If your starting out looking at an impact driver is it safe to assume that you are joining a battery system for the first time and if so I will advise you to consider what other tools you will want down the road. I would definitely suggest to go brushless as the extra torque makes a big difference with impact drivers but as far as who's brushless impact....go with whoever's product line you like the best. For me it was between dewalt and milwaukee because of availability and i chose milwaukee because of their other products as well the quality of their m18 fuel impact driver. Ofcourse this assumes 18v because if your ok with 12v then I would have to say milwaukee because their 12v line seems to me at least to be by far the best.

The only thing i would hesitate about is that now these tools have override protection and alot more communication between the tool itself and the battery that trying to force one battery to work with a different line up of tools might not be the best idea. I'm sure you could eventually get it to work but my concern would be for how long before it breaks. If you can figure this out i would love to see some pics though.

I actually had the craftsman bolt on series for a little bit, not everything but the recip saw, impact, drill, hammer drill, and air inflator...i thought it was good for the here and there work around the house but I decided that I needed to make a switch to a bigger brand like a dewalt or milwaukee and ended up choosing the fuel lineup and the craftsman wasn't bad but for comparison purposes the impact driver on the craftsman was actually pretty good but pretty good and the fuel impact driver are two totally different things. My new fuel impact driver can drive lags that I never though a 1/4" hex impact driver would be able to drive. With that said i think the problem for the bolt on or the matrix is at the moment the cordless power tools are getting stronger and stronger and simply offering a modular system that incorporated outdated technology just didn't cut it. Everything is going brushless and with the modular system being good when compared to 5 years ago it just doesn't do the trick anymore.

Any idea on when that event will be lol because I really want to buy this! Or aren't they actually having that this week? I think i heard 12th to 15th somewhere for milwaukee's symposium

I'm a little disappointed with Milwaukee that they have not made the multi tool in a brushless version yet. It's really the perfect tool for brushless technology because of it's constant run time making it cooler in your hand as well as a longer tool life. Hope someone from Milwaukee sees this thread and realizes that it's a great idea

90 years for power tools really is impressive. When you think of what Milwaukee has helped build, basically almost all the infrastructure in the entire country from bridges to high rises, to roads and cars...just amazing when you take a step back and think about it.

If only they named themselves "tool"......the possibilities would be endless

USA would really appreciate this! Didn't buy the regular m18 hammer drill because I'm still waiting for this to arrive in the states

I bought the fuel impact driver and have basically just stopped looking for a drill, bought a 1/4" hex to 3/8" metal chuck for it and with the driver having a belt clip and the chuck fitting in my pocket I can carry both tools around with my hands completely free as I am on a lot of jobsites where they don't install the steps until the very end so free hands for ladders is always a plus

I just looked and didn't even see this on milwaukee's website, why keep this a secret!

I saw a youtube review of these milwaukee how saw blades and looked great, it shoots the metal right out of the blade once cut. Looks great for cutting into roof top units for a gas line, power wiring through a curb or control wire...or even a duct sensor. Only issue i see with using it on ductwork is that the metal will be left in the duct after you take the blade out to rattle around and become a headache with the 1 year warranty that comes with our contracts.

I have a feeling when your company name is "dual tool" you are kind of stuck working with two blades even if it is just a bad idea, they almost have to do it now

if only they'd make a much larger version of that box....that's a bit on the useless side because who only uses a drill....no one lol

is this on the fuel or regular brushed? I wonder with their "new" fuel powerplant if the situation would be different, maybe it is something with overheating....unless ofcourse it remained the same after a cool down period?

that remote open lid is a sweet feature, does this run off of the m12 and m18 or just the m18?

I wish milwaukee would come out with a truck box that could be more specifically designed to fit their tools. The new workbox does look good but it wont fit in my "small" truck box...thinking I'm going to have to go to a weatherguard soon.

Would love this to have the blade on the left and not the right being right handed but I'm sure its going to be very well balanced that it probably wont even affect the long cuts through a couple layers on flywood and am so glad I haven't gotten the 6.5" circ saw yet....what I would give for a fuel sawzall and 7.25" circ saw set so I could save a little on both....would be even beter if they could throw in the paddle grinder in a set as well.
