  1. looking forward to the changes!

not sure if its me doing something wrong but when i click on a topic on the full site version it always takes me to the first origional post in that thread.. on the mobile version it remembers the last post i read and brings me to the most recent post that i havent read..

this isnt a new problem just something that has always been since i started here.. a minor fustration.

is it me or is that the way the full version works?

if thats the way it is, is there anyway to make it act like the mobile version?

let me know if i wasn't clear, ill try to re-explain

Thanks guys, keep up the good work! TIA kicks ass

  2. so i grabbed mine and it is a Mastech RSR MAS830    like i said, nothing fancy but it has got the job done thus far.

I measured it and with the rubber case in place it is 1.5x3x5.5"    without the rubber case it is 1.1x2.6x5.25

so i guess without the case mine is smaller than the klein and just a touch bigger than the Fluke 101...   im thinking those are ruled out unfoutunetly

the only think the other two Flukes have going for them is some nice features and a little narrower (height i dont care about)

I keep leaning towards the T+Pro.. any suggestions one way or the other?

  3.  When I was working at the utility is was lets say acquire a few multimeter meters and some how found their way to my house when I retired . I have the Fluke-87-V http://www.grainger.com/product/4EB18?gclid=COanmLWygsMCFalj7Aod2WsARA&cm_mmc=PPC:GOOGLEPLAA-_-Test%20Instruments-_-Electrical%20Power%20Testing-_-4EB18&ef_id=VK1rDAAABBJ4HO22:20150107172116:sThe Fluke 375 and the Klein MM500

The Klein is my go to for quick and easy testing. As for the non contact tester they all do give false readings at times. I found that they pick up bleed over when the box is packed.

Those are some sweet meters to have "inherited"    ahh.. the perks of working for a big company!!!      Nice score!

  4. MM I agree but we both know that's gonna be fu#*in hard for us tool nuts lol!! And NER that sucks bro it sounds like a good idea to hire someone to help u out man it will cost U but like u said it will free U up for more tool buying and help u keep ur sanity man. My first one is to try and get the hell outa debt man since we bought our house and had our beautiful twins almost 4yrs ago we haven't been able to get back on our feet thank god we were able to get all our credit cards Consolidated into one payment but even that's been kicking my ass 2nd not stress so much and 3rd never miss a day here on the best damn forum with all U guys! T.I.A!!!!!!!!!! Oh and 1 more try and find a way to buy more tools!! Lol!!

I think ditching your last one will help with your first! :) I know it's hard seeing a great tool deal or walking by a new tool that you gotta have and not making the purchase but you gotta put family first man! Tools will always be there.

Im Not trying to tell you what to do, besides it already seems like you know what's up.. that's why paying debts was your number 1 and buying tools barely made the list!

    You got this bro!

I took a LARGE hit on a job a few years ago.. lost a shit load of money and it definitely put some hurt on the household. It was amazing how much stress it caused me personally and with the wife, I gained weight, shitty moods and no motivation. It felt amazing to do the math and see how bad it really was, put together a solid plan to recover and achieve it month by month. Having that weight off my back helped in so many ways.

  5. I use the Klein MM200. It's like $60 bucks @ HD and has been great over the 3-4 years I've had it. Caps at 600V, so unless you need more than that, give it a look.

Quality wise, Fluke is the way to go, but they are a bit more $$$

Thanks, just checked it out, looks like a nice meter, just a little bigger than what im looking for

I think im leaning towards the Flukes, i have to go to depot tomorrow so im gonna check out the mm500 and see what i think in person

  6. I'm officially retiring............. from doing my own business bookkeeping that is :) it's what I'm doing right now at almost 1am and what I was doing until 4am last night.. playing catchup. I hate this shit Gonna hire someone to come into the office once a week and keep me on track!

Besides that will free up my time for tool buying :)

  7. just jumped on my computer, also chrome, and the link works.

I have the Powers 27cal semi automatic and it is a fantastic tool. i have never had any issues with it.

Mine is an exact clone of the Dewalt DDF212035P  just a different color!

  8. I'm assuming the guns are just rebranded Powers which is also owned by Stanley (if my memory serves me correct)

Are you saying that you can get the gun in store but no pins or ammo? ? That seems stupid

Do they have 22/27 cal shots and pins in the store but just not dewalt??

Ps. Link isn't working for me, on chrome mobile

  9. This is an option ive been considering, since I have the Bosch 12v line, they have one that would work for me. This isnt a tool id be using everyday on a job as im not a contractor but would use it for stuff around the house, with my 4.0ah batteries id assume that it would work well enough for what id use it for.  I also have the porter cable 20v line and noticed recently they have one too but need to learn which one would be better suited.

cordless should be more that adequate for you.

I have the makita 18v multitool and the milwaukee m12 multitool.   when i use cordless (90% of the time) i use the milwaukee.. i honestly dont know the last time i used my makita..   I really like how small and light the m12 is.  i imagine the bosch has the same ergonomics.

I looked into the bosch 12v PS50 and it seems like it has been around, unchanged since late 2008..  they have been rolling out some new brushless 12v tools recently.. if you dont need it right away maybe hold off as long as you can to see if they come out with a new brushless model with some updates

I wouldnt worry about the allen wrench blade change on the bosch.. especially if you use the carbide blades you wont be changing then very often!!

the porter cable looks to be ok, im not fimilar with that style of quick blade change, can you override it and use any type of blade or do you need to only use the open back blades?  maybe that would be a consideration.  its also comes in around $20 cheaper than the bosch

if it were me, i would probably lean towards the bosch, even better wait it out to see if they have a new model coming but i think they would both serve  you well.

  10. as of right not my top contenders are

Fluke T-5 600v;    amperage jaw, narrow, probes store hidden in back, both can come out or click one forward for use, around 1.25x2x8"  around $100

Fluke T+Pro; cool GFCI test feature, built in flashlight, narrow, probes store hidden in back, both can come out or click one forward for use, around 1.25x2.25x7.5"  around $85

Fluke 101;   basic no frills, thinnest, cool removable magnetic kickstand thingy   1x2.5x5"   around $60

Klein MM500; simple, durable,  widest and (thickest) of them all    1.25x3x5.5    around $50

does anyone know of a good "pen style" multimeter?

  11. Its back..    this seems to be a popular one time tool. not sure why they dont just add it to their lineup.

I know its pretty expensive but it is in a league of its own.   if you do any serious woodworking then you may want to consider grabbing one.

I have the 26" model (i have the 18" triangle they offered a while back so no need for the 18" square also)  let me just say, this sucker is BIG      it is a serious chunk of aluminum, finished beautifully and dead nuts accurate.       i use it mostly for aligning my TS55 guide rail, just hook it over the reference edge, slide the guide rail up to it and away you go..  i also use it to align the fence and rail on my mft table so im sure its right on.
