Can anyone tell me if the arbor in the States is different to here in Europe. I was gonna order some diablo blades for my saw but they all say 5/8 arbor which is about 15.4mm by my calculations but my saw says it has a 20mm arbor.
It is different. You could use a 20mm blade on a 5/8" arbor if you use a reducer bushing, but not the other way around.

“Nut-busting” torque is just marketing speak, it doesn't have any real meaning.
Ingersoll Rand has a good article about it:

Edit:
Upon further review it is not what I thought it was.
Whoops. Carry on.

Do it. You know you want to.

I wonder if Makita will try to develop something Bluetooth next like Dewalt and Milwaukee have.
At the Makita 100th anniversary event, the director of Makita indicated that they will.
-
does Makita have anything on the tool or is this the first Makita battery to have indicators?
A lot of the newer tools have indicators on the tool. The batteries with the indicators on them are new and are just starting to hit the marketplace.

I was wondering why his coworkers didn't rescue him. Read this in a different article:
"Other workers tried to pull him up but couldn't do it, so they called 911."
Being rescued by firefighters. How embarrassing. For him and his coworkers.

My new batteries came in the mail today. Two 5.0ah batteries with LED indicators. They came out of the package charged with 2 out of four bars.

His government paid for the modification, not his boss.
The modification was done by Nasta Special Productions in coordination with NAV who financed the modification in order for him to gain employment.

According to the article the operator was paralyzed in a traffic accident in 2006. He is now 26 years old and the Norwegian government branch NAV has paid for his education and the modification to the excavator. Its not likely that such an modification would be profitable for the company in it self, but in a society where the state otherwise would have paid him money for the rest of his life since he cant work, it might be profitable for the society to give him an education and modify the excavator.

FYI, Hilti now comes with 5.2ah batteries, same price and same size as the 3.3, nice upgrade!
Just got mine!

Any more info on these batteries you can point me to? They aren't listed on Hilti's website. Did you pick yours up at a dealer?

I like this idea better than a heated jacket, but I still can't imagine actually wearing one while I work.

Nut busting torque tests the tools capability to remove a bolt that's been tightened using techniques apart from the tool itself. The problem with this is there’s presently no industry wide standard for testing or posting torque rankings, and variables like bolt size and type, thread conditions, air pressure, CFM, etc affect the outcome of the test. This gives manufactures a way to test tools with deceptive techniques that permit them to boost the marketed torque rating, but those techniques won't give you an accurate portrayal of real working torque. Maybe, you have the ability to get huge number of nut busting torque every now and then, given a particular set of conditions but that is not the real working torque the tool is continuously able to deliver.
