? new softwood lumber deal and increased activity in Texas vs Canadian oilsands will take care of that in short order I'm sure lol.

That's Canadian money so it roughly translates to what $500 US. Lolololol.... Just poking fun.
$250 but who's counting ?

I wouldn't spend money on a brushed Milwaukee impact, that's for sure. If you don't want to spend on Fuel look at Ryobi. Plus it's something that actually goes on sale at HD lol.
BC Fasteners and Mississauga Hardware, and if you're in the GTA, IHL, are all much better options than Black Rock for sales and service imo. Browse the flyers, you can find great deals.

Could always go corded for most things. Keep cordless for drills and impacts and corded for the rest. Ryobi is decent but most of my stuff is professional quality and used for diy purposes most of the time.
Where are you looking? Home Depot? Canadian Home Depot sucks. What province are you in and how averse are you to online shopping? When I first got into M18 my circular saw and Sawzall were both free toss-ins with drill and impact kits, etc. They still have sales like that, or free battery deals if you're patient.

@TheMidnightNarwhal I'm Canadian lol, I have a pretty good idea where prices sit.

I wasn't even excited for Dewalt's "world's first" event because their events and releases had been so uninspired for so long. FlexVolt changed all that lol. I have 4-5k in yellow tools purchased after that media event last year ?

I wouldn't. A)you probably lose whatever savings you would have had in the first place through resale. b)Milwaukee has sales and battery promos all the time so it's not that extravagant to expand the collection gradually.
-
My understanding is all brands will still be showcased but Stanley gets the hype while Dewalt was in the limelight last year for obvious reasons.

I heard the new starlock stuff puts my DeWALT OMT to shame. The vibration is supposedly minimal.
Yep. Almost enough to get me to buy a Bosch but I'm sure within the next year Starlock will be like Skittles; we'll all be tasting the rainbow. Maybe a Fuel Starlock OMT next month?

That small 20v one adapter from the 12v with the clip and swivel head seems the most versatile. Seems like the only light from yellow I'd care to own. Hopefully they expand the lineup, Milwaukee has an awesome lineup and all of my lights are M12/M18.
-
This year is a Stanley focused event I believe. And yes, there's a bit of info about the concrete nailer floating around, but it's apparently a decent ways out yet. Glad Dewalt is so committed to their nailer lineup though.

Wiss and Midwest are all I ever hear discussed for snips. Didn't realize Lenox even made some. SBD getting your money either way at Lowes I guess lol.

I'm guessing would.
Exactly. expanding on the "mitre saw and table saw and that's about it" sentiment.

@SetBuilder or large SDS, or Sawzall. Circular saw. Grinder. Lots of applications for it. Impact driver not so much.
@Framer joe I agree with regards to the off-cut splinter guard, but at least it has a riving knife, unlike the Makita.

Probably coasters to not scratch the surface. The battery is elevated as well.

I'd say anyone who actually watches hockey has him top 5 for sure. So probably not that much media in Nashville, no.

I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Rinne in the past 7+ years so I don't think he's underappreciated at all. He seems well respected as a goalie in the league.
As an aside, Chris Kunitz can go to hell. Go Preds!

Seems like a cost cutting measure rather than it being some superfluous feature. "Use clamps! Clean your track!" That's like not caring about dust extraction because you can wear a dust mask.
-
It isn't hybrid @Jronman, you're probably misremembering because there are two models on the way; one corded and one cordless.

Is that all it is? Maybe it's that they're more nose-heavy, to me. The added overall bulk is more probably the term I was looking for. The added length really is seldom an issue in my usage, as any place I'm in drilling that's tight I'm using one of the M18 Hawgs, or otherwise the impact with a Daredevil.
Actually it's apparently 5 ounces for the Fuel models. I'm surprised it's that notable. It's 2-3 ounces for the compacts.

Have it on a few of my cordless, never use it. Though, every time I pick one of them up, I'm reminded by the extra weight that it's their. If you don't do enough to justify having an SDS with you, I supposed they're great.
The extra weight is what, 2 ounces? The extra 1/4-1/2" length is more of a nuisance than any weight difference.
Stuck to hammer drills pretty religiously until about the second time I used a corded Bosch Bulldog. The speed and smoothness was amazing, found a brushless D handle Dewalt for $90 usd and had to pull the trigger even though I barely ever do tapcons and drop anchors.

Yep, if I had a Surge I'd use compacts on it for sure. I use the only 2.0 Dewalt battery I have on the 887 lol.
-
There a reason the new Makita cordless doesn't have a riving knife?
-
Fat ass on those grinders. Interesting layout.

Should I swap brands?

All manufacturers seem to moving towards longer platform life and backwards compatibility so that doesn't concern me personally. Plus, all batteries die from all manufacturers because the cells all come from the same 3/4 OEMs. Buying more batteries is a fact of life with cordless. Should still get a long life out of each battery regardless though.
