2 batteries is more in their wheelhouse, fits their zealous fanaticism towards sticking with M18.
-
Yep @Framer joe my 790 is my favorite tool but it's massive lol. 7.25" slider doesn't do much more than what, a 2x8? Sometimes the lightest tool that will do the job is full-size lol.

Higher charge rate means higher heat, which isn't good for the cells. That's why most fast chargers now have fans to cool the batteries while they charge.
Big Red's next move is 2xM18 tools I'd guess. I expect a table saw among other big things next month.
-
I disagree. The 790 and stand is a big beast. Quick job cutting 2x6 I'd rather have a smaller saw.
I want the XR 7.25" and I would enjoy a fixed head 10" 60v Max FlexVolt.

Brushless is coming.

Seems about as objective as it's possible to be in my opinion.

Absolutely is. Best values are likely the ridgid wheeled stand or the Dewalt heavy duty stand that collapses to a very portable form factor. I have the rolling Dewalt but if it wasn't tossed in with my saw I would have got one of the other two.
-
Your happiness levels are increasing though! So that's...something!
-
I wouldn't call myself an expert either @Tug, just an opinionated enthusiast lol.
-
Easier fix is Milwaukee buying a quality chuck. The new Rohm I have for my 2704 is superior to whatever Asian (?) POS it came with (the 2604 was a Jacobs but from my parts hunting I'm not convinced the 2704 is. I could be wrong).
-
A bladder? Dewalt gets you so excited you can't control yourself and the old one's worn out? ?

Ryan Johansen being out for surgery, and Karlsson clearly deteriorating makes me wonder if a Pens cup win isn't inevitable. I would be saddened by that because having War Pig Kessel's name on that thing once is bad enough but the Ducks must be defeated.
-
The 9.0 makes me wish I had more of them and fewer 2.0 and 5.0 lol. The extra weight really isn't bad and the runtime is notably improved. I only have 1 9.0 but will likely remedy that for my Fuel Sawzall at the very least.
-
Yeah, Dewalt doesn't post big flashy numbers but my 996 has always felt more powerful and rugged than my 2704. The side handle is a joke for what it's capable of. Big fan of having 3 gears to work with.

Probably, but the drill itself would be old as the hills. You can buy lion packs for Dewalt 18v too; I still think it's stupid.
-
The problem with that is imagine having a nicad hammer drill for another 8 years covered by warranty. No thanks. I'd rather spend less, but more frequently, and always have the latest tech.
-
With their warranty what does reliability matter? Isn't it 1 day turnaround? For that money I want all-out savage power and runtime and whatever weakness their design has is something they can fix over the course of 20 years.
-
I'll likely get the FlexVolt track saw. I hate table saws in the field as much as I hate them at home and I'll break them down as safely as possible regardless of where I'm working.
Auto-On with the vacuum on Festool etc. is very cool though. Love the Festool thoughtful design regarding chipout/splintering.
-
Big middle finger to Dewalt then. They still aren't in Canada in the twin packs, just singles, which puts them in FlexVolt 3.0/9.0 pricing territory.
Also just finally watched the video and pumped to see the two full size drills I own do so well. The 996 and 2704 are so great, the yellow is my favorite all-around but the red is generally my go to because I don't mind abusing it a bit and it's a bit lighter.
@Framer joe will be pleased to see teal behind them, I must admit Joe, you had the right idea lol. I was surprised to see my Milwaukee outdo the Makita because my buddy at work has one that seems like it can do more work more confidently than the red one.
Great comparison Dwain!

Eneracer/Core integrated the battery cage into the exterior shell of the battery and welded the connections, that's why theirs is closer in size to an M18 XC pack.

@Hugh Jass the new XR 6.0 with 10 20700 cells is actually basically identical in volume to the FlexVolt 2.0/6.0. A touch shorter but a bit longer. More juice though. It's also around half a pound lighter w 10 fat cells instead of 15 small ones.

Haven't watched yet but certainly will today, I've been really looking forward to this comparison!

Nashville vs Senators final and I'll be ecstatic. The Ducks can go to hell. Kesler can go pound sand.
-
If you have 2.0/6.0 it won't be terrible but I wouldn't recommend the 3.0/9.0 lol.

Mitres aren't really in their wheelhouse either, yet here we are ?
