  1. Initial rollout of FlexVolt showed off tools more powerful than Milwaukees offerings. Milwaukee responded with the 2720 and 2731 kits with 9.0 and Rapid charger for a great price. Bonus 9.0 included with mitre saw and SDS Max also helps market penetration of the 9.0. The new FlexVolt price drop puts a fast charger, tool, and 2 batteries in the hands of people for the same price as the Milwaukee deals. Now that FlexVolt OPE is shown off the M18 kits are having a second 9.0 tossed in. Consumers win for once ?

  2. Yep, I knew you meant the updated 6.5 but it's still not an XR. The 20v XR saw that I expected to be the 6.5 ended up being the new 7.25 unfortunately. I didn't anticipate the brushless blade left 60v to be "rear handle" like this...super excited about that.

  3. I'm not anticipating 4000 mAh 20700 cells for a while; Bosch and Dewalt are just using 20700 cells in their high end batteries; are the Festool Airstreams? Milwaukee is still on 18650, as is Makita, and the last attempt Milwaukee made to leap frog the competition took a year and a half to hit the market. Moral of the story is I'm trying to enjoy having the latest and greatest with the 3.0/9.0 FlexVolt batteries and M18 HD9.0 lol.

does quiklok work with any bit of correct diameter or do bits have to be specifically for quiklok?

Only bits with 7/16 shank, which doesn't even cover the full spectrum of augers.

  5. Just not very versatile and lots of people will tell you accessories can fall off reasonably easily. Think of the places you use a right angle drill and you can see why that could be an issue.

  6. Yep the Hawgs come in bags. Mainly because the Super Hawg is what, 2' long? Keyed chuck on the Super is definitely the way to go, likely the way to go on the baby pig too but if you're only using larger augers then it's likely fine with Quiklok. I see the quiklok ones on promo more, leads me to believe they aren't as popular.

  7. Nice video @dwain, your praise of this unit means it's worth checking out but aside from a paltry display of seemingly low-end stuff at Lowes, I've yet to see Hitachi in Canada and this thing probably costs dearly. If I worked in dirtier exterior conditions I'd be sorely tempted though. In fact, if we still did our manufacturing how we did two years ago I would be tempted but the work is significantly cleaner now (thankfully).

  8. Happened upon a deal on the FlexVolt circular saw. Been jonesing for it for a while. Quite excited to get it in my hands. OT is being cut out at work for the next while so I had intended to keep my Fuel 2731 (which is fantastic) but I'll likely part with it. Luckily the deal on the yellow is good enough I'll end up with a stronger saw for free and some cash in hand.

  9. @aabee what's wrong the the layout of it? It's 4 speakers and a sub plus a passive radiator, has louder and clearer sound than my Bosch PB360C, while the suitcase style design makes it much more portable. Pretty much has to be the size it is, and overall volume of its form factor is pretty similar to other radios in its class.

Yep, I've seen small subtrades kicked off residential sites. They make their presence known everywhere.

  11. The installation and electrician's pliers are both extremely pricy, so I'm not likely to pick them up. They look great though (it's Knipex after all). Anyone notice Knipex has lanyard-clip versions finding their way to suppliers? Must have finally realized NWS exists.
