@Grumpy MSG Milwaukee does the same thing. "Quik-Lok" detachable power cord, now the quik-lok moniker has been appropriated by quick release chucks on their Fuel Hawgs lol.

None of my cordless tools are from HD that I can think of but list prices are same and sale prices aren't as good as smaller places on lots of stuff here. Most importantly, model numbers are all the same. 2704-20. DCD996. 2731-20. All the same crap. No extra numbers, no weird digit swaps, they're the same tools.
I could see them having some inferior models (with different model numbers) with lower prices, but if you're comparing apples to apples, you get an apple regardless of where you buy it.

Ya ..the brushless thing is a big deal...wish you left blade guys would get the same as us right blade guys...should be a choice for everyone, even if the profits don't warrant it....
They do have options, but they aren't yellow. SB&D needs to understand having an extra couple batteries isn't a huge deal for everyone.

Yes, but a non-adjustable shoe does that as well

Adjustable shoes are for depth setting?
Yes exactly. You can use it to put wear on a wider section of blade so you don't necessarily have 6+ inches of blade stabbing through material.

Not happy about that. Why not keep the blade left like all other 6.5 inch saws on the market!
This is actually a 7.25" I'm finding out. Interesting but...

what convenience features? I know rafter hook and 4 way recip chuck but is there anything else?
Many complaints over lack of blade left. Biggest problem I have with FlexVolt is no adjustable shoe on the recip: lots of blades tossed before they're done.

Especially when they already have a blade right full size saw with FlexVolt I thought we would see something to compete with the Fuel 2730. Guess not.

Haven't got any details myself but you would hope so after all the outrage over FlexVolt missing convenience features.

More Knipex today. Lineman pliers with crimper and comfort grip. Part of me dislikes that the collection is a mishmash of comfort grip and dipped but comfort grip is so nice, and apparently very durable, so I'll deal with it (somehow)

I've been holding out myself. More for barrel grip than anything. It's on the would-be-nice list rather than the must-have list.

I think the Bosch does 2 hits for $100 rather than whatever sawstop is plus blade cost.

I have that grinder as well, it's a nice unit!
as for flesh detection you really only have two options, no? I'd go with Bosch. There were power complaints early on but a firmware update fixed it. It doesn't wreck a blade when you have contact.

@mohawkdec, I also find the ToughSystem Music lacking feature-wise, and the menu is lacking due to so few buttons but like you said; the sound is amazing. My favorite radio sound wise.
@dwasifar I bought my Bosch PB360C for $170 CAD. I work alone in a 3000 sq ft spray booth doing repetitive work with no earbuds allowed. If I had to listen to the sound of airtools everyday I'd go squirrelly. This radio is a nice all-in-one solution for me. Loud, 360* sound, charges my phone, has Bluetooth for the rare instance CBC talk radio isn't entertaining enough
. Really my only qualm with it is the media bay was designed with 2008 phones in mind and not 2016+ phones lol.

I've got that same radio @Theultimatehic and it's the only Bosch item I have that isn't a consumable. You won't be disappointed. I use the battery bay as a storage compartment

Picked up 4 various Plano boxes with the intent of further organizing bits in a few different tough boxes. Looking like it's going to work quite well so far. The more modular the better!

They're muscling into crowded markets lately it seems. Must be decent margins in lasers. Or maybe they've added a bottle opener or a wire stripper to them to disruptively innovate the segment.

Same thing happened to me @jtkendall, 5" pliers wrench shipped in a shoebox, 5" cobra and 12" cobra shipped in a massive box. Mind boggling.

I have the dewalt right and angle and the Milwaukee 30, gotta say I never use the dewalt, it's good just haven't really had to do anything I couldn't fit a right angle drill in, now the Milwaukee pivot I've used quite a bit that ones great for off set and odd angles
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkI'm hoping that the Dewalt is capable enough I don't need to buy a regular wimpy right angle drill at all. Difference between $20 and $110 CAD can go towards something more fun lol.

@Framer joe insight isn't "hey random person, check out this secret product coming out next month, keep it to yourself!". I believe it's more like "hey random person, hypothetically, if we were to make this cool imaginary product we are showing you right now, how cool would that be? Cool enough to spend money on? How much money? Lots of money?"

I have the Milwaukee 30 degree but the Dewalt right angle is on my short list.

Sounds like a good decision @rdst_1, especially returning that cut-off tool, I mean grinder. Wait, no I mean cut-off tool

in Canada we have Canadian Tire stores, they have house brand sand paper and sanding disc's that are often sold at 65% off i'm not sure who makes this stuff as there is no maker's marks on it but the stuff is phenomenal. I buy it in multiple packages when on sale as it were it out lasts Norton 3M Diablo the list goes on and on......most if not all are very dark brown in color regardless of grit.
Thank you for this Comp, I'm definitely going to check it out!

Favorite drill is so hard to choose. For general use likely the DCD791. Plenty of power, small size, lightweight.
If I could only have one, my DCD996. Love the ergonomics on Dewalt drills. However, my 2704 is fun because it's almost in compact territory but just screams with power. I bent a 1.5" daredevil spade the other day with it...thankfully it has a much better side handle than the DCD996.
