  1. They really do feel and look high quality. And those Overdrive bits are ridiculously sharp. The Overdrive bits aren't too pricy and the Nailkillers are only a touch more money than Bosch Nailchippers (probably the difference in 15 minutes of hourly pay between an underpaid guy in China and a guy in Japan paid a living wage).

15g and 16g? Whats the reasoning for that? Seems rather trivial.

Everyone else makes them both. Regional preferences. 15g w an actual part of a nail head seems popular for exterior trim, while 16g seems popular for interior work comparatively. Just guesswork on my part though.

except when Sparky compared the Milwaukee impact to the DeWALT impact. the Milwaukee won but on paper should lose.

SparkyChannel? That guy might as well use a white lightning bolt as his channel logo. Don't expect anything red to ever lose on that channel without major qualifiers. I do prefer the 2753 but the 887 is practically identical to it performance wise.

  4. This is my go-to work radio. Love having it in my spray booth. Only complaint is the media bay wasn't designed with modern phones in mind. Small flaw, fantastic radio. The power outlets are a huge plus for small accessories.

Yes it is worth it. The best radio in the market in my opinion. The only downside Is that the new Flexvolt batteries won't fit so you'd have to use regular 20v only batteries.

    This.

...at first I wondered what this had to do with law enforcement, but now it's clear to me that this is the new police baton.

The industry's only night stick that's also good for afternoon delight.

  7. Well I ordered, received, and finally had a chance to test out these Wood Owl bits. The verdict? I'm impressed.

The "nailchipper" auger bits are 3/4" and 7/8"; I can't imagine hitting nails with them being a problem. The only supplier I could see for Canadians didn't have the "ultra smooth" version which have an additional coating for less friction, but these are quite good. Quick and aggressive, but no spur / concave shape so the holes are fairly messy both at the entry and exit. Interior is smooth of course, but lots of blowout.

The "cordless overdrive" bits are flat out amazing. Very quick, holes are super clean, and there is little blowout, some holes have none. Here and there you'd be hard-pressed to tell me what direction I drilled the hole from. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone on the fence, and I don't imagine I'll buy spades anymore, I'll just buy these. Made in Japan, great quality, and price is quite competitive. I bought the 3/8 separate from the pack that comes with 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1, 1-1/8 and 1-1-4. I can post pics of holes later if my claims seem dubious lol. Moral of the story is buy these bits! I'm going to keep them with my DCD791, but I may get more to store with my 996 or 2704. Each kit would benefit from having these quality bits on hand.

I don't need an excuse for a woman to try and prove I'm lying by advertising that I have a ruler "on hand".

Yeah the nail polish made me wonder if that "ruler" was actually a lie detector...

@mohawkdec I'll definitely keep you posted; I won't have much else to talk about purchase-wise for a few weeks

  9. I enjoyed the Fuel, it's quite good. 18v impacts are so small now that I ended up giving it away, but as long as you like the grip it's a nice unit. The M12 Fuel is longer than the flagship impacts now, and only a touch narrower. The lack of a slide pack is where most of its compactness seems to come from.

  10. Just ordered the FlexVolt sliding mitre kit with batteries, adapter and stand. I think I just blew February's budget! I've been so wishy washy with it because it's by far my most expensive single tool but it's going to be a welcome addition to my little workshop.

  11. ordered more Knipex today. ES Cobras, 6" pliers wrench (comfort grip) and x-cut diagonal cutters. Need to get the 12" pliers wrench now and I'll only be missing the XL models of cobra and pliers wrench lol. Eyeing up the new needlenose combination pliers as well, they look handy.

  12. If I'm on night shift then the nights I have off work and I'm home I generally spend time in the basement. Music on low, and organize and plan projects, plan a budget for the next few weeks-month, prioritize the to-do list on the house, or watch Netflix in the living room with headphones on. It's surprisingly peaceful and time goes quickly.
