Well I'd agree if you were talking about something like the Domino but other companies make dust extractors and track saws so I'll disagree with that notion. You did it the expensive, and likely superior way, but not the only way lol. The end result is great though!
-
If you want as close to dust free work environment as possible then it's definitely worth it. Systainers are also extremely light and stack and latch much nicer than my ToughSystem stacks do. As I said, guys you see on site do use them but not the guys who work out in the elements. Most framers I've worked with shouldn't be within 100 feet of a systainer, or tstak or LBoxx for that matter lol. Rough and rowdy bunch.

My X-cuts, 6" pliers wrench and cobra ES should be here Wednesday

American gun culture knows no bounds
.38 special? 3/8" special?

Made in Germany has a high price attached. Someone makes an honest wage to build Festool units instead of the pittance paid for labor building most other colours of tools (I should know, I have plenty of labels to read that all have some version of "made in China" on them).
I've seen remodelers and finishing carpenters/trim guys with systainers. Definitely not for framers lmao.
As far as the Pro5 goes, it's a little squirrelly on my end but nothing too bad at all. I've been taping my M18 vac to it and the dust collection is actually amazing. I can only imagine it will be even better with a proper Dewalt or Festool dust extraxtor.

I was interested in it but so far price is way too steep for me, maybe it's more economical in USD.
-
Isn't it partially a rebranding of their 18v because their 18v were never 18v to begin with?
-
And jaws... and legs lol. Depends where you are when it kicks!

I hear ya @NicolasRamos, my home workshop is stored in ToughSystem boxes and everything is compartmentalized with accessories. Makes setup and teardown a breeze. If I was to work out of blow molded cases as a pile of randomly sized Milwaukee boxes and bags I'd tear my hair out. The only Systainers I have are for Pro5s but the same is true of them; tool and accessories, easily stored and easily accessible.

The guy putting in 1000 drywall screws uses a drywall screwgun. The guy using sheet metal screws uses a versaclutch screwgun.

@KnarlyCarl single 2.0s are $99 here. Only way to get a deal on them is in certain kits. Power tool life in Canada is rough lol.

Yeah @KnarlyCarl the FlexVolt is 1lb 2oz heavier if both have a 9.0. I've used the M18 vac taped to the Pro5 and it works amazing. We were sanding outside before but that's all changed now. I imagine having a CT extractor would be amazing.
-
The most appealing part of this saw to me is that it's easy to get the vacuum adapter for it without being a power tool millwright like @KnarlyCarl lol. Do I need a second circ? Probably not, especially with the FV track saw on the way but the more the merrier!

I've seen corded Super Hawgs and corded old school hole Hawgs on site, I've never seen the corded Dewalt stud/joist drill on a site, so up to this point I'd say Milwaukee has had that market cornered.

Lol! Careful what you wish for, @JimboS1ice will never forgive Big Red if they put the SBD style 3-speed slush box in their premium drill
-
I don't really like the direction Big Red is taking with storage. Small footprint with modular capabilities is where it's at, and that market is fairly saturated.

Which can be done with the one key pumpkin too so isn't special or impressive
-
Update what, the 2704? That thing is what, a year and a half old? Probably only halfway through its life before the 2804 replaces it lol.
-
Hahaha especially egregious when you factor in the M18 pumpkin can hang from a joist etc., as usual with Milwaukee there are multiple ways to mount the light. Typical Dewalt approach is "biggest baddest, screw the convenience features". In this case that means most lumens and way to use it beyond plopping it in the middle of a room lol.

Wish the Milwaukee came with a rohm chuck
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkIn my opinion the Jacobs on the Fuel really is a POS by comparison but if you don't use the Rohms very often the Jacobs is mostly fine.

That thing seemed absolutely ridiculous from the moment it was revealed. The M18 radius pumpkin is far superior. No one who uses wobble lights likes wobble lights; don't try to make an improved wobble light.

Amazon Canada, bcfasteners etc all have better prices than what's listed there, unless I'm misunderstanding.

Checked it out in store again. The bevel detents are awesome and the shoe has less play than my Fuel.

Great pics @KnarlyCarl, pictures speak volumes!
