  1. Yeah been there, back in 86, we got hit with 30" and I was stuck at work for three days and then had to go home somehow and shovel myself a half a block to my driveway and shovel the driveway. Only to have to be back at work in the am. Glad I don't have to,put up with that anymore.

I'm glad this storm happened on a weekend. If it was during the week, I would have gotten stuck for a couple of days for sure with work. Then would have to wait for the Long Island Railroad to get back on schedule. I'm glad I have good neighbors that shovel my family out when I'm stuck at work for the overnights...

  2. Because you always ran out of juice when using the hackzall with the regular 12v batteries? That's what you mean or that you didn't even have a battery to begin with?

I gotta pick up at least one of these 4.0 batteries one of these days.....
  3. We got about 28" on my part of Long Island, I got a Craftsman 24" snow blower as a house warming gift from my family a couple of years ago and it's one of the best tools I own. I have a 100X100' property now and I dont think I could live without it. Me and a couple of neighbors were hitting hard this morning and got everyone plowed out in no time. Even had time for some nice Snow Beers....

That Snow Joe looks like an awesome machine... If I didn't have a gas powered machine I would definitly pick up one of those.

  4. Here is my story.

For quite a while I was in the market for a portable electric pipe bending machine. A REMS Curvo. REMS is a German brand of quality plumbing/heating tools. And some Tradsmen on a couple of Plumbing/Heating sites I belong too always talked about REMS tools and the quality of these machines. Being a tool nut I knew one day I would own one of these machines. This brand of tools is not that easy to come by where I live and they are quite expensive.

One day on one of the Heating sites there was a post by one of the members that a fellow Tech had passed away and his wife was going to be selling his tools/equipment. I actually had the oppurnutinty to meet this Tech at a couple of Oil/gas Heating Seminars over the past few years, Great guy, well respected in the trade. Passed away too young. I was able to get in contact with the wife and ask about the Curvo pipe bender and was able to purchase it.

  5. I had picked up a Dewalt DWST 17805 a while back and was looking for something to pack it with. Finally got around to loading my my 16 ga Paslode finish nails and it holds fuel cells on the sides as well. I gotta pickup another one of these for my Porta Cable 15 ga finish nails, crown staples and brads. These boxes seem like they can handle a lot of nails. I also gotta find a case that would store Paslode framing nails.

  6. Picked this up earlier to try to help unclog my kitchen sink that backed up on the ol lady this morning. No luck plunging, cleaning the traps or snaking it. I'm not quite sure what to do now. Don't wanna deal out the cash for a plumber to come look at it so I'll mess around with it again tomorrow to see if i can get er done.

Santi, if a larger snake does not work, check to see if you can rent a tool called the Kinetic Water Ram, it's an air tool for clearing stoppages. I have one and it's an awesome tool. Just be careful not to use too much air pressure on it...
