  1. Wow that's too bad, hope you can repair without to big of a hassle.

Tree trimming company came thru to clear branches away from power lines and managed to crush my mail box a little. Luckily they replaced it for us.

Any company here would just keep going

Man this is crazy because just about a month ago some dummy who didn't tie is wood/lumber down was turning the corner fast and a piece of sheet wood flew into my box and it's less then 6month that we bought it... What's goin on with people and mail boxes lately lol

The war on mailboxes is bigger than the war on drugs. Its big money for mailbox manufactures

  2. Sorry to hear that Justin. For your next one use reinforced concrete with a decorative facade. Next time it happens will be the last time it happens ;)

Yup there will be a hole in there radiator next time..lol I put it in the ground like 3 feet deep ten years ago they must have been going fast to break it.

That reminds me of my older's brother solution from having his mailbox destroyed every year from the discharge of the snow plows that went up his street.

He had his shop weld up a mailbox post using 4x4x1/2" square tubing and then a mail box was constructed of 3/8" steel plate, The post was then set in about 5' of concrete. I think the entire setup weighed in about 200 pounds.

Wow I need to up my game forsure

It's always disappointing to come home and see some bozo destroy your property.

    You have no idea  :-\

  3. I'd almost rather not even have a damn mail box.

Yup, a bucket is much cheaper

I have A mailbox right on my house so no worries about that for me.

They would hit that no problem here

I'm sorry that happen to you Justin, at least no one was hurt. It will get better brother, you just have to believe.

Thanks man!! I hope so its very tiring

  4. I'm not sure if those were available before, I haven't noticed...but I did see some new products in HD last weekend. One was a bit magnet enhancer or something like that. It was basically a magnet that slides over a bit, it was labeled as "New" on the peg. It had the same green casing as their ultra magnetic bit holder. The Makita bit section did appear to be larger.

The thing that looks like a horseshoe I have that its nice. I haven't seen any changes on the shelves but saw new stuff online.

I've seen the double sided bits at my HD b4 and I own the impact socket set, great price for them to they get used daily at work and everyone likes them

Yea I have double sided bits but I never seen the square drive double sided bit before

  5. State used to be good, now not so much.

If the space you have it in now is cramped, make sure new one fits, last year they bulked up water heaters with extra insulation to meet 2015 mandates.

To make things easy, John mentioned shark bite fittings, not a bad idea, you can get flex lines to fit on the 3/4" nipples coming out of the water heater, with shark bite ends. If you want to make it look sharp and square, then go solid pipe.

Check your local code, do you need it inspected or an expansion tank added?

    Hope this helps!

A.O Smith owns State now, there made in the same factory. I don't see that much State heaters here, why do you say there no good. I think they are made a little cheaper than A.O Smith or so I heard. The new Naeca 3 standards have made water heater change outs hell, I have to down size the heater a lot. I strongly believe A.O Smith makes the best heaters and Bradford White is second place.

  6. Hey guys is there new Makita gold accessories now?? I thought I had the whole line up but now I found some stuff I don't have. Maybe I'm just an idiot and this stuff was available before..lol There's some double ended bits I never seen before and metric sockets.

  7. a.aaa-Sink-Construction-Fail.jpg

I've seen similar set ups where you wash your hands hitting your knuckles on the sink because the faucet is so short

Then there's the good ol guys that last so long nobody knows anything about it, and now it's finally time to replace

Nice, I saw the oldest GE water heater I've ever seen the other day I think it was maybe from the 70's, I took a picture of the tag but the picture is blurry I can;t read it. It was tan in color, that heater looks very small what size was it??

  8. Wow yup crazy what ya run into.

Today was the first time I saw a water heater installed with the hot and cold reversed! Well that's why you run out of hot water so fast

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Haha, What a bunch of dummies. That reminds me about one time troubleshooting a water heater that wasn't getting enough hot water. Who ever installed it had half the hot nipple blocked half way full with solder. It took me some time to find the problem

That's funny, at first I though I was looking at my kitchen sink lol. I just woke up from a nap But no! Wow. Is this something you had to deal with? If so, what did you do? Thanks Justin.

Haha is your plumbing that bad..jk Yes it was, they built a second kitchen illegally in the house and this was the plumbing for it. I had to fix a bunch of violations on this house they rented part of the house as an efficiency. This part was an easy fix just rip it all out and put the p-trap back

  9. Very nice work there Justin, rain sucks. At least it's not snow. They are forecasting a nice snow fall for the mid Atlantic this weekend. One model shows 18" of the white stuff. Yuk.

John, Sent from my iPad using Tapat

18'' that sounds awful, at least it hasn't snowed here in Miami since January 19,1977. It would have been cool to snow today on its 39 anniversary.lol

Yup, everybody take note:Goulds has proven itself with us, too. The J5S and J5 pumps are the only ones I'll use for residential jet pump wells around here. Probably other good ones out there, but we have second to none service and support with the vendors. Of course if I had my way, I'd convert them all to submersible (the well pumps)

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

The water table is so dang high here, most wells are only about 22 feet deep. In some place's you have to have a pump running non-stop when excavating. We have a pump shop here that rebuilds old Goulds pumps, I buy and sell them to people who can't afford a new one. I even put a used one in a family members house 3 years ago and its still going strong. I don't know what model it was but it was super old, its a jet pump for house water so it gets used heavily.

  10. Yes I would if I had the money for it, I spend a lot of time on the toilet when I'm home. I always bring the laptop with me..lol I spent $700 on a Kohler toilet 9 years ago, had to spend an extra hundred for a custom color :) She's been good to me, only clogged one time, changed the flapper and fill valve seal once. A good toilet makes life much more pleasurable. You can call me crazy I have been called worst :)

  11. Wired up 3 hp Goulds sprinkler pump with Rain Bird timer and K-Rain pump start relay. I had to leave the whips long because they are going to build a pump house on the slab and move everything inside. I got it done in an hour, had to bring the tool bag back and forth to the truck because of the rain. An open tool bag style may have not been the best idea..lol Goulds pumps and Rain Bird timers are the best in the business as far as longevity. Don't save money buying cheaper products it will cost you more money in the long run. If you have any questions ask away.
