  1. I use offset full round head 30 deg paper collated Paslode nails, I don't see clipped head nails on the shelves around here. You want to stay away from the plastic collated because they do make a mess, the Paslode nails are pricey but are worth it. Me and my neighbor put up new fences after hurricane Wilma and he used a coil nailer with cheap nails and I used my Paslode nails and nailer. We both used galvanized nails and his fence boards are falling off because the nails rotted out. Now I have to go out there all the time with my impact to screw the boards back on because the fence is on the property line..lol

  2. I have one or two 5.0's. The 895 is a pretty solid drill. I've mixed 50lb bags of Quikrete with it in a 5 gal bucket.

Do you use anything special for your TapCon's? Like the ConDrive system?

I use the Condrive 1000 its a must 50 percent of my work is tapcon's I use 1/4 in. x 1-1/4 Hex head. I had a homeowner the other day watching me and he was amazed he never seen the Condriver before. He was like I have to use two drills all the time and I could just use this thingy and use one. I put him to work I made him strap some of my pipe I'm so evil..lol

  3. Those were just the ones I had in my garage and in both my trucks. I have a few others corded drills, 20v SDS and some others.

I can only imagine what the rest of your tool collection looks like. Nope!! I don't think its possible to imagine such awesomeness  ???

  4. I use a 3 inch Dewalt dive guide with there maxfit tips for most of my work, Bosch Dare devil spade bits I love them, I must have drill a hundred holes yesterday with the 7/8 bit. Some step bits, tapcon condrive 1000, tapping bits, hex drivers and a bunch of wood and masonry bits I keep it all in a Klein canvas zipper bag. I think I have every single Makita gold bit ever made, there great.

  5. Yup bulk is the way to go I found that out a little late in life, I think I was paying $8 a quart from my Stihl dealer for bar oil. I buy my bar oil at Lowe's and its probably the only thing I buy from Lowe's..lol This is great to know about weedkiller, I've been on the fence about buying the HDX brand from HD can anyone recommend it. The weeds are growing wild and I'm fresh out of Roundup I buy the 2.5 gallon jugs so any help is very appreciated. 1 gallon Husqvarna Bar oil is $11.98 at Lowe's and 2.5 gallon concentrate HDX weedkiller is $69.97

  6. That's one sexy ladder you got there I have been thinking about buying it. My beloved husky ladder got crushed by a tree, it survived somewhat the fiberglass cracked and one of the rivets on the spreaders broke. I still use it but it gets a little shakey when your standing on the top.lol I like it because its so light and the top has just the right slots for tools, I can't seem to find the exact replacement for it :/

  7. After watching the TIA review of the Klein NCVT3 voltage tester and, since I could use a new voltage tester, I went ahead and picked one up at the depot.

I'm not sure what the deal with this tester is but it was more or less useless. It would light up and start beeping when you got anywhere near a live outlet. You might say that's what it's supposed to do, but by near I mean 3'. That's feet. Point it at my battery chargers... BEEP. Point it at the overhead fluorescent light ... BEEP. Point it at my leg ... BEEP. Shake it ... BEEP.

I can't imagine relying on it to tell me a live circuit if it thinks that my leg is. 110v line. So, back to the depot it went. The one I exchanged it for basically did the same thing. Back to the depot yet again. This time I checked 3 more hanging in the store. Guess what - every one basically acted in the same way. They'd beep when shaken, pointed at body parts, touched to be metal shelves and basically left me with zero confidence that they were working.

The older NCVT2 in HD didn't have any of these problems. Is the NCVT3 just a bad design? I've looked at these in 2 separate stores and they all act the same so I don't think at it always just a bad shipment. I'd expect this from a cheap HF tool, not Klein.

I guess I'll stick with my five year old tester until they iron out the kinks. Has anyone else had any experience with these?

When new products come out it really makes you want to run out and buy it, but I've learned to wait until any bugs get fix. I never had a problem with my Ncvt2 I really like the new design but I guess Klein still has some work to do. Its disappointing to here your experience I'm an electrician and Klein is my go to for tools
