My mom works for a laboratory corporation that does a lot of shipping and has hundreds of these pallets..I should do more pallet projects but this is the only one we' ve done!! Keep poking around you might find some good ones!!!

Thanks guys..certainly lots fun happen in here and on the deck..the wood on the bar and walls is actually laminate flooring!!! I only had very little of the color that's on the bar but once I saw it I knew exactly where I was gunna use it!!! But damn did I wish I had enough todo all the walls!!!

And the projects continue.... This is a roughly 20ftx16ft deck made entirely out of pallets!! Also i reccomend checking out my previous thread titled "old shed made tiki hut" Deck is pretty straight forward so ill just get on to the pictures.....Enjoy!!! The area before the deck & our stock pile of some of the pallets (these were the more solid type & more consistanly made pallets) A little frame work and we put em all together... Added some 1x strips to fill the gaps... Finally a few coats of thompsons water seal and shes finished:) The whole deck cost about $200 and most of that was for the thompsons water seal..simalar to the last project use you imagination and be inovative and you too can build big with very little!!!!

There have been quite a few of decorative things added since those pictures were taken so ill try to get some new ones up for an update!! like a bigg mirror above the bar and some awesome old beer signs!!

This project is a few years old now but i did put together a few pics of the process!! This building orginally was a small garage back in the 30s-40s then turned into a shed sometime after,,the first picture is what it looked like when we got it..followed by what a little imagination came up with And the fun begins..Hammers, prybars, and a sawzall.....oh yea and alot of sweat and labor!! Last of the structural changes and taking a break after the grunt work Dogs enjoying the changes!! The inside:) And there you have it a Tiki Bar!! A little imagination and repurpose some things then you could have an awesome place to hangout!!!

Yea I see it all to often..but I guess it's jus less labor intensive to throw down something over top!!

Well the kitchen did take quite a bit of time but the rest took about 6hrs to sand and 3hrs for 2 coats of poly..all over a three day stretch!! Thanks again everyone..I'd certainly reccmend refinishing your hardwoods if they are in need!! Either paying someone or doing it urself it's changes the feel of the whole house!!!

Well to start I got home w the first one and it had a short in it!! Then after wasteing a hr to get another one it jus wasn't doin a good job..the drum was wore out and only taking half of what the width that it should have.. But it was only a 110 so it wasn't too hard to handle it jus disappointed me with performance!!

Love the character aswell but the headaches of the old technology can be a pain!!!

I believe your right with light sanding and proper maintenance they say true hardwoods will last 600+ years!!

Ive had the joys refinishing the hardwoods in my moms 1929 home!! This is pretty much my first time refinshing hardwoods but it came out pretty good and i pretty much did it all on my own!! KITCHEN- This room was the most fun..to begin with there were lick and stick tiles that were more than ready tobe trashed. Under the tiles was a nice thick layer of glue.. I literally soaked the floor with water to reactivate glue.. Then scrapped for about 2-3hrs and did the same process twice..ending up with this.. Now that the really messy part is over time to begin sanding.. And what makes it all worth it.... THE REST OF THE HOUSE(dining room, living room, hallway) The rest of the floors in the house were just wore out and only needed a good sanding and poly Had to do a little mud work but this is the only before picture of the living room..hard to see under all the mud dust.. Sanded living room Hated this thing!!!!! POS from HD I used an oil based semi gloss poly and sanded up to 100grit..all and all they look pretty good & only spent about $300!! These are after all over 80 years old..I tried to stain them too but my mom loves all the imperfections in the wood..definetly gives a certain level of character!! Finished product in next comment!!

Side note and not to take away from any TIA greatness..there are people who's periscope channel has 40+ millions hearts..now these are like celebrities and pornstars with a huge following.. TIA only has less than 500 followers on there so this is a great accomplishment for everyone with TIA!!! I just looked and the top periscope channel has 167 million hahaha something to strive for right??(:
