DeWalt switched from 20700 battery cells to 21700 battery cells now that they are more readily available.
The 9.0ah now uses the latest battery cells, just like the 12.0ah. This is a good thing. It is a rolling change that began happening in quarter 2 of this year.

DeWalt's rapid charger is 8 amp output and fan cooled so it cools the batteries too. 2x rate of the Hilti.
Makita rapid is 8 amp output.
Hitachi/Metabo HPT charger is 9 amp. Bosch rapid is 8 amp output with a 16 amp output charger coming next year with boost mode.

Not one that I am aware of.

My older one, 3-4 years old was metal. They probably made the switch at some point.

These have anti-kickback or bind up control:
Milwaukee Fuel Gen2 with OneKey
Milwaukee Fuel Gen3 with OneKey (releases this month)
DeWalt DCD997 with Tool Connect
Hitachi (Metabo HPT) DV18DBL2 (also IP56 rated)
Bosch top tier premium drills
Hilti top tier premium drill
Mafell drills (rebranded Metabo) supposedly have it although my Metabo do not.

Any of the top tier premium hammerdrill driver will have enough umph for 6" hole saw.

As far as I was aware, it's for the charger cord and plug, just like you have it.

It's the same item. The heater is made by Mr. Heater in a partnership with Mr. Heater.I went to go buy it and noticed on my Amazon wish list that the model number has changed. Used to be F340660 and
now it's DXH70CFAV. Any idea what changed? I reached out to Dewalt but haven't heard back yet.
The Fxxxxx part is the Mr. Heater item number
The DeWalt part number is it under DeWalt.
Same heater.

Works good on the OneKey models. The newest gen 3 OneKey drill will be out very soon, I think beginning of November.
Same for the DeWalt DCD997 with Tool Connect.

What happened to triple or quadruple? If your going that route then.Sorry but I have to disagree with you man [emoji16]
Here is how I see it:
1=single
2=dual
3 or more= multi

Multiple or MultiVolt is accurate and sounds fine to me. It's more than 1 voltage so by definition, multiple works. It's actually multivolt, which makes no sense in my head. There is no power tool battery that can manage several voltages (3 or above, hence multi). Like framerjoe called it, dualvolt, that sounds better to me [emoji6]

Dual is more specific as it specifically denotes 2. Either isn't wrong. I think MultiVolt sounds better.

The adapter is $150 for MultiVolt. DeWalt isn't making one at this time from what I was told.
Just buy more batteries. Haha

Yes, sorry, I am referring to the North American release. I can't keep up with worldwide releases.
I wondered about that. It was a great idea from Dewalt.

No reviews on MultiVolt because it isn't released yet. Official release is next Tuesday. If Makita uses bigger cells, then X2 tools are going to be seriously heavy and huge. Flexvolt are big with 15 cells, but Makita are possibly going to have 20 x 21700 cells on a single tool! [emoji32]
I think Hitachi/Hikoki with Multivolt have a better approach. It's like a middle ground between Flexvolt and X2. A single 18650 Multivolt battery will do 36V and be exactly the same size as one of their original 6ah 18V batteries. To improve runtime (and likely power), they also have a bigger 21700 cell 8ah/4ah version that is 1440Wh. It's bigger, but not as big as Flexvolt or 2 x Makita batteries.
We haven't seen any reviews yet, but in theory Multivolt is looking like a winner. I kind of wish it was Makita that came up with the idea instead (or be the first ones to copy Flexvolt if you prefer I put it that way).
Also, Hitachi had to pay up some for using voltage switching as DeWalt holds the patent.
There has also been a MultiVolt X2 battery dust extractor spotted in Japan.
.
And Makita is so damn secretive.

Why not have it all on one unit? Convenience.I have a dual tank mister heat, for the life of me I can't figure out why I would need it to be battery powered.... I get that it has a fan and USB ports.... I have all that on other things....
