1. FlexVolt track saw uses 20mm arbor blades and can use the Festool 160mm diameter blades. The stock FlexVolt track saw blade is not that good. I recommend going with a Freud 160mm track saw blades.

Makita has a whole 165mm diameter track saw blade range that is fantastic. I am going to see if they fit the DeWalt.

2. Well it did it again, the guys were pushing the drill pretty hard today and it went dead.  No lights nothing.

Has anyone experienced this with a dcd996? I mean from the little bit I've used it, it seems like a solid drill except now the electronics have crapped the bed twice.  The drills only 2 years old and for $70 on ebay I can get a whole electronic assembly but now I'm debating if it's worth trying to stick another one in the drill or just scrap it and start over with a completely new drill.
Why spend $70 to replace the electronics on a used drill when you can pick up a new open box model on eBay for around $90 - $100?

3. Why won't they fit? Because of the 90 hose?
It will need a custom hose for the smaller vax. The hose it comes with will not fit. That is why they state it will not work

4.
Great idea. I'll do this.

Are they hard to remove?
Not hard at all. Thread the screw in and then soft tap it with a mallet to pop the nut out on the battery side. It's a friction fit in the plastic hex.

Put the nut in the OMT and use a newer style belt clip, just not a real old one, and all is well.

5. Simple and efficient layout, the ultimate Metabo systainer setup. Every piece is readily accessible and all chucks have a slot.

The insert required minimal modification to fit the Metabo 3 speed interchangeable chuck drill and the new SSD 200 BL impact driver.

There is a lot of space life over for drill bits and other accessories.

This insert should work with most other drill/impact setups as well with slight material removal.

I'll do some test fitting of other brands and post.

The insert is the Festool Ti15 foam insert:

6. Now that we’ve got the cordless sander and router (assuming rumors are true). What other tools would you guys like to see cut the cord?  I know it’s more of a speciality tool but I’d love to see a brushless biscuit jointer, FV or 20V, I’m not  that picky.
Makita has their cordless 18v biscuit joiner. Definitely doesn't need to be 60v. A 20v biscuit would be a handy item.

7. And to go back to the 6.5...that atrocious brick.
My thoughts exactly. The new saw is so much better than the old 6.5" saw. The only reason he probably went back was due to the blade location.

8. I had posted that my brother in law thought the saw was great.  I saw him this weekend.  He decided it is junk.  He went back to the 6 1/2"
And why did he decide it was junk?

9. That sounds positive.  Have there been issues with the table flatness on this model in particular or on jobsite style saws in general?
Some saws have flatter tops than others. These aren't necessarily precision machines but we want them as accurate as possible.

10.

I'll never understand why this, of all tools, would be a priority over obvious missing tools in the lineup. It's literally the last tool that needs to be brushless.

I disagree. The current DeWalt jigsaw is very lacking and has not been changed a bit from its release around 2005 except for the battery mount to 20v.

An updated design and barrel grip are desperately needed.

11. How does this not scream “Makita” to everyone? Even the strap, which no other company uses, is in the same spot.

The strap is a common feature in tools from Japan and that area of the world. This is in no way a copy of Makita.

12. Just read on IG that multivolt will be getting a 10” table saw and an AC adapter for all multivolt tools. If that’s true that makes me absolutely furious with Dewalt.
If you read Kruger's post carefully, he states it's rumored to include those things. I'll wait to see what is actually released.

13. Does anyone know if dewalt have a new 20v mitre day in the works? Have the flexvolt but some days you don’t need to big boy and i feel the current 20v mitre is pretty average. Even considered buying into red for there 7 and a quarter but would rather stay in one platform
Not until beginning of 2019. That's the word on the streets from what I heard.

14. ? Still relying on the Spring design [emoji85].
Dissapointing to see a 20v battery.

30 Degree to 21' ??

There is an updated 33° coming too.

15. I appreciate your input The.Handyman..with Dewalt...I just think if more Framers, builders, guys running construction companies, buying thousands of dollars of tools had more say , things could be different....truly believe that.
Most of the people I see at these events aren’t even in the business or just have a YouTube channel.....I write dozens of emails to Dewalt, hoping for change.
Marketing and pencil pushers are missing out..what do I know, we do millions in jobs they do billions......
The ones that go to these events are not the ones making a difference about the tools. They are the ones that have the largest ability to spread the word about the tools. I've been told by DeWalt that they do significant product testing out in the field with contractors across the country who get to use prototype and pre-production models before final production. Those are the ones who helped shape the final tool. They also have to sign a nondisclosure agreement and nobody really knows who is doing that testing.
