  1. Hah, thought some of you might get a kick out of the hardware! I'm pretty sure there are a couple deck screws in there!
  2. Ha, tell me about it... Recovering from an auto accident from a couple months ago. Smashed hip, split the ball in half, broke femur... Just started putting some weight on it.
  3. Thanks Tony! I've been a shopping fool as of late, and this site isn't curbing that any! Looking at the Kreg K5 pocket hole jig after seeing some videos on them. Of course they are a few years old now, so probably be a K6 around the corner...
  4. Those cobolt mini's are sweet. You can cut a penny in half like nothing.
  5. Nice set, great price too. I looked at those before I opted for the Wiha's. If I wasn't looking for heavy duty might have gone that route.
  6. I own 3 sizes. They are great, require very little pressure to grip nut very tightly. Adjustable wrenches require constant adjusting to keep them tight on the nut, then loose enough to slide on again. Plus they tend to slip and round off nuts. Try one. You will never go back to adjustable, and rarely reach for an open end.
  7. Yes, nail guns only. No impact wrenches. I bit the bullet and ordered the CAT. 60 dB and 4.6 gal swayed me. Not in the same league probably as the Bull that @taylorv1 bought, but should be nice.
  8. Great thread! I am looking hard at the JC10 myself, as well as The Bull. I won't be painting with it, so am not too worried about the tank size. However, I would like to be able to run a gun off it... My concerns with the Bull are two; First, it is about half again as heavy as the JC10. Second, I'm a bit worried about the volume level, especially working in tight spaces indoors. My understanding is that perceived volume is doubled for every 10 dB increase. That would make the 80 dB Bull 4 times as loud as the 60 dB JC10! Another thought, the CAT 4610A would give me similar weight as JC10 with 4.6 gal tank. Hmmm.... Need to do some more digging.
  9. Holy crap! No, I have that set of Wiha's only, plus a few Wiha T-handles and the odd junker or two.
  10. It was just a little project. I was originally going to sell it, but decided to do that top end swap and keep it. I may sell it down the road. Solo is a German company, they stopped selling in US. A little grease to keep the solder in place.
  11. Just ordered a set of torx to go with it. Started to part out my Jeep today. Lots of torx heads.
  12. I'd love to know the secret to the secret SKU!
  13. Hey gang, I'm recovering from a bad broken hip/femur and the surgical repair. So, I've been laid up unable to do much. I figured I would make a project out of a saw that I originally planned to sell. I got a great deal on a nos Solo 665 and did a top end swap to turn it into a 681. First I have done anything like it. Of course I have not been able to fire it up, so for all I know it's going to explode immediately after starting! Anyway, here's some pics of the process; 665 cilinder and carb removed. 65cc vs 82cc. Big difference! 681 cylinder on the right, with the decomp valve. It actually weighs a bit less than the 665 what with the bigger hole in it! Gotta do it right, some 0.032" rosin core solder to measure squish. Came out perfect at 0.02 with base gasket. The finished product with a sweet 24" Total Light and Tough!
  14. The stubby is softfinish. They are both real nice, don't think you could go wrong either way. I do see that in a greasy situation those microfinish drivers would be better. There is a slight grit to them.
  15. I appreciate it gang! Hey Chris, I've spent a good deal of time in the White Mountains in your great state! Live Free or Die!
  16. Will do. Only used a few for some minor around the house stuff. Put a new stationary bike together.
  17. Gedore Pipe Deburring Reamer $14. http://www.kctoolco.com/gedore-232001-pipe-deburring-reamer-4-32-mm-p/gr1439510.htm
  18. Thanks Comp, I will expect you not to laugh out loud at my questions then!
  19. Thanks Carl and Glasseyi! Going to be doing a lot of digging here, that's for sure! First order will be to see what people think of the Rolair JC10 that I'm close to ordering. Cheers!
  20. Hey gang Seeing all of your awesome tools, I figured I would post my recent purchase. Bought a set of Wiha Extra Heavy 's in the Microfinish. I was concerned they might not balance well being heavier with the through-shafts, but they are very nice in the hand! The little Stubby was not part of the set, but I had to have it...
  21. Really enjoyed the video, bought a bunch of those myself recently. One thing I really like about the plier wrench is the ratcheting ability. You don't have to completely remove them from the nut, just loosen your grip a bit.
  22. Love the Knipex Cobra! I don't think I would spend the money on the alligator, personally, as I think it suffers from the same shortcomings as typical channellocks.
  23. Just a ham-handed do-it-yourselfer willing to spend a weekend on a job that would take a pro an hour to do. Just to save $20, haha! Look forward to exploring the forum and asking some dumb questions!
