Last Year (2017) Makita UK said the same " Nothing coming this Year may be a the end of next (2018)" That`s way I have started this posts here. And it seams this Year will be the same as the last on batteries side of Makita business. In my job (property maintenance) Carrying x5-6 batteries each day is so inconvenient + my batteries getting old and I really do not want to invest in the same new. Common Makita! Give us some HD Power Packs.

I totally agree with you. That`s way I keep asking Makita for HD Battery Packs which are proven to hold for longer and give more power, especially Metabo and Bosch .

No new batteries just yet but the Lock Down battery adapter has arrived.

In general most batteries (18650 cells like Makita) all across the manufacturers are the same but only Makita offers 22 min charge on the 3Ah which is quite good as in very rear occasions you will be able to discharge one for less than the charging time. The other thing to consider is the age of the battery. The new 20700 cells in Metabo and 21700 cells in Bosch batteries supposed to be better but I do not have any of the to compare and confirm. Hopefully Makita will come comming Year with something new.

That is the point, to be link to my cell phone which is always with me. Insurance does not cover if your van have been open and not broken into. This is , if the right price of course, just another layer of protection.

Finally GPS tags (from Samsung)! It would be nice if MAKITA comes up with something similar. This could be promising if the price is right :). Here in UK could find them for £112.00 cheapest available. I will pass on them until something new comes around.

The tools are to serve us and not other way around. Most of us here know what is right use and what not and we do no discuss the most extreme cases here. But sometimes we all think the our colleagues had a better set

I push them hard but still so does my colleague his Dewalt. I use a lot my BJR181 Recip saw and my DHS680 circular saw, cutting old rafters and joist, old timber with everything embedded in it. My BLS713 also gives a hard time to my batteries (all BL1830 some new with charge level some older). On the same work my colleague`s Dewalt does not heat as much but he has got bigger batteries (not Flexvolt).

I am into demolition and refurbishment trade and I really need HD batteries. Current stock is quite capable for ordinary no push work, but in my trade my batteries heats quickly and shuts down the tool. I got 8 to overcome this problem but for me will be better to have fewer but bigger batteries.

There are shops here in UK have them too, but that is not the point about. The stock is very limited and the majority of big Makita retailers does not have them which is my concern. Makita themself did not bring any of the 6Ah on 2 big Tools Shows and in fact promoting the 5Ah. Thre isn't ANY tool/tool set coming with 6Ah in the box. And that is the case since early Summer here in UK. All this it does not look like to me just like Makita just can not meet the demand. That is just my opinion.

Just back from D&M Tool Show (London, UK) and ones again Makita does not have 6Ah battery for sell. Last week Screwfix LIVE tool fair was the same. Official reply "Out of stock" and Makita do not take orders on these , unofficial "discounted". Which make me hope than we might see the new batteries with newer sells before end of this Year. Bosch have had the new ProCore 7Ah on display and will be on the shelves at the end of the month. Ones again just few months between the announcement and product make it to the shelves. Wish Makita were like that. Have checked the spacing on the x2 tools. On Makita there is a plastic divider between the two batteries while on Metabo x2 there is open space. I think that the newest (bigger batteries) will fit Makita present day x2 tools as there is plenty of space despite the divider.

I do not have x2. I will get x2 only if able to use with x1 or with x2 batteries otherwise I have a lot 18v and the same 110v for more power when required. I would like x2 concept but need to be able to run x2 tool with x1 battery for reguliary use but be able to stick another battery on demand.

Honest talks I am geting quite concerned about if the new batteries if any bigger (according to increased rumors about 21700 cell to be used) will fit my 3-4 Years old tools which still serve me well and I have no desire to change them any time soon.

I will be visiting D&M Tool Show (London, UK) on Sat and were Makita will sell x2 Grinder and gonna check for the spacing in the batteries as Makita reps does not make any comment about any new stuff. Will take tape measure with me

All new Makita batteries have battery indicator. Check for letter "B" after the number aka BL1850B.

This article is about the newest Bosch ProCore batteries but Makita will be nothing short of it as well as the timing. "Written on 30.09.2017, 16:57 o’clock So, if the 6.3ah high amp Eneracer batteries weren't enough, Bosch looks set for a re-brand with 3 new battery sizes, code name ProCore (the Eneracers were called Core in the US...). The sizes are a suspected 3.5ah slim pack (this one interests me most if I'm honest - decent juice but light and compact), a "universal" 7.0ah, same pack size as the Eneracer and an "endurance" pack that, doing a bit of 2+2, many suspect will be a whopping 10.5ah! The old coolpacks used the now common-or-garden 18650 cells. The Eneracers use the 20700 cells, with 2 rows of 5 delivering 6.3ah. If the new "universal" ProCore is delivering 7ah and capable of 90 amps (!! what's that ... like a 1600w equivolent?), I suspect Bosch are using the 21700 cells for the ProCores? I read in toolguyd.com that we're looking at paying in order of Euro199/$237 for the 7.0ah. Given the performance and endurance I currently get from my couple of Eneracers, I won't be rushing out to buy one (if and when we get them in the UK - 2018?) of the 7.0 ProCores. What this new battery range does have me holding out hope for is an 18V plunge saw, table saw and mitre saw (duel bevel mind!). An 18V random orbital sander would be nice too ;), not that it would need a 7.0ah+ battery. "

I think that x2 and all new (from last 2-3) and definitely the very newest from this Year have the space required for the extra width if 20700 cell and as for if 21700 than they will just bit longer which will be fine with x2 tool as the batteries are perpendicular to the machine body and only the width mater but ones again they (Makita) counted on for the extra width of 20700 cell. Ones again just personal opinion

Very limited stock and Makita does not provide any info about restock them since August. I have had chad with several Makita distributors including FastFix one of the biggest official Makita retailer. This isn`t looking like they can`t produce quantities but more likely clearing old stock before new releases. But that is just my guess.
