Finally got my combo kit

I got my combo kit (DCK299P2 with DCD996 and DCF887) the other day and all I can say is WOW. I put the drill in hammer mode and went to work on a brick. I was able to drill through it like I was going through wood. I found the drill and 5Ah battery combo to be a little heavy for all day or overhead use, but I don't have a comparison against another product in the same class. Overall I really like this kit. I like that it comes with a hard case and the 5Ah batteries. Love the impact driver. I like that it has 3 settings to go from very gentle to beast mode. And the price was decent on acmetools with a 10% discount.

I broke the bank and bought the DCF899HB also. A few months ago I struggled to get a few lug nuts off my car that had been put on too tight and rusted on. Took me 30 minutes to get one nut to come off after lots of hammer strikes and liquid wrench. I was fed up and decided to never have the shop rotate my tires for me again. But, with 4 cars to maintain I HATE rotating tires, its such a chore. Got the 899 and went to work, it makes life so much easier. I hope with this in hand, I will be more likely to rotate my tires and get more life out of them.

Of course, I don't have a long term use review but out of the box, all three tools are great. One thing I would like to see is a better battery fit. It rattles a little. The speed change toggle on the drill is a little temperamental, but not that big of a deal for me.

If you are on the fence about either of these tools, pull the trigger! You won't regret it.

How much did that kit run you Eddie?

Regular price is $400 at acme, I had a sitewide 10%, so, $360 delivered. Not bad when you consider the previous kit I had was a compact drill with the same impact driver and a contractor bag was $300 from homedepot. I got a much better drill, 5Ah batteries and the hard case for only 60 more. Can't beat that with a stick.
